More Than Mortgages

Broadway Mortgage Group Serves Up Top-Notch Client Experiences and Local Hospitality

Brianna Harris Kimbrough took an unconventional path into the mortgage industry.

After working in a support role with a variety of brokers to improve their marketing, sales and technology, Kimbrough says, “Eventually, I had this realization: I had spent years helping other people build and grow their businesses. It was my turn.”

Kimbrough founded Broadway Mortgage Group, putting everything she had learned into a purpose-driven business that prioritized relationships over transactions, client education and a work environment where everyone felt valued.

She explains, “Starting Broadway Mortgage Group was a leap, but it never felt like I was starting from scratch. Everything I had done up until that point had prepared me for it. Broadway was my opportunity to take everything I had learned from helping other businesses grow and finally build the mortgage company I believed could exist.”

The Broadway Mortgage Group has grown to include team members Kenzie Hammock, Kaitlyn West, Kaleb Hammock, Donna Kelly, Dennis Tulsa and the members of Abbott Mortgage Group: Jaime and Jacyn Abbott and Virginia Snyder. Of the team, Kimbrough shares that they each bring unique strengths to the business while maintaining the same care for clients.

She says, “What I love to my core are the people inside our office and the people we get to work alongside every day, from our clients to our real estate partners and everyone in between. Our team has truly become a family. Not a day goes by that I’m not overwhelmed with appreciation for the way they represent something I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into building. Every single one of them represents Broadway beautifully, but even more importantly, they genuinely care about one another and the people we serve.”

When it comes to education, Broadway Mortgage Group aims to walk clients through every step of the process with intention. The goal? To take the overwhelm out of homebuying by making sure every client understands what they’re signing while building the financial and credit literacy to make confident decisions.

Kimbrough explains, “Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make, yet so many buyers go through the process without truly understanding what is happening. That has never sat well with me.

“Education creates confidence. When people understand the process, so much of the fear and uncertainty disappears.”

Another priority for Broadway is celebration. Kimbrough describes how the team comes to every closing with champagne, confetti poppers, snacks, gifts and more to mark the client’s milestone with trademark positive energy.

“From start to finish, I want our buyers to feel celebrated. Buying a home is such a huge life experience, but I think sometimes our industry gets so focused on the transaction that we forget to make the experience itself memorable,” says Kimbrough.

There is also a personal mission driving Kimbrough as a founder and mortgage broker.

She shares, “My mom had me when she was 16, and growing up, we never really had a home that was ours. Having a home of my own was something I wished for for a very long time. I think that experience is part of what drives me so deeply today. Now I get to fight for other people to have that feeling of walking through a door and knowing, this is ours.”

With an office space in the heart of downtown Gallatin, the Broadway team brings their hearts for relationships to the local community. Lime Deli is a staple for the team when they grab a sandwich. For coffee, they visit Black Elm and Honey Rock Books and Cafe. They also enjoy The Paper Mill.

The Broadway office has also become the center of one of Square Fest’s highlights. With a business right on the Square, the team wanted to become involved. Kimbrough recalls walking the aisles of Walmart and reflecting on her experience taking her husband to an all-day shopping event. That is when the idea of Husband Daycare was born.

Now, Broadway is the place where husbands can hang out in the AC, watch the game and enjoy free beer while the wives shop.

“To me, that’s what being part of a community should look like. It doesn’t always need to be about selling something. Sometimes it’s simply creating a place where people want to be, making them laugh and leaving a little bit of a mark on their day.”

Looking ahead, Kimbrough describes wanting to grow Broadway without losing the roots of why she started it: caring for people.

“You can build a successful company and still care deeply about people. In fact, I think caring about people is how you build something that lasts. At the end of the day, Broadway Mortgage Group isn’t really about mortgages. Mortgages are simply the vehicle that allows us to help people build a life they love.”
