The kitchen is the heart of the home, so it’s important for it to be a space that is welcoming and warm. A place where couples can share a glass of wine and reconnect after a busy day. Eat, Gather, Love can help make this room everything a homeowner can want while keeping costs reasonable.
“I loved the name - it just spoke to me,” says Pamela Jordan, who owns the Nashville franchise along with her husband, Gary. “At this point in my life, I’ve been a consumer, a designer, a wife, and a mom, and this was something I could do to help people.”
With their combined 15 years of home improvement experience, Eat, Gather, Love was the perfect fit for the couple. “Our tagline is ‘Reimagine
Your Kitchen,’ so we prefer to go in and use the same footprint that the customer has to keep costs down,” says Pamela.
“It’s where we go first thing in the morning and the last place in the evening. It’s my goal to create a kitchen that makes them feel good about their
home.”
1 - Traditional kitchen
The homeowners wanted something newer, brighter and cleaner, so the existing cabinets were painted white, smaller cabinets were stacked above those, and new hardware was added. A quartz countertop, with a spectacular backsplash, was installed for durability and easy maintenance. The light fixture was refreshed with new paint, and a new sink and faucet completed the update. All in all, it’s a romantic and lovely space to spend time together.
2 - Modern farmhouse
These homeowners wanted more storage, and the wife’s favorite color is blue. So the doors on the existing cabinets were replaced, and the bottom cabinets were painted a navy blue for a contrast to the white cabinets above. On top of these, stacked cabinets were added for more storage. Two small cabinets above the sink were replaced with floating wood shelves for easier access to items. White subway tile, quartz countertops and a barn sink finished it off.
Next to this area, the refrigerator was enclosed and the original cabinets above were moved forward for easier accessibility. Stacked cabinets were also added on top. It’s now a great place for the couple to share a morning cup of coffee before starting the day.
3 - Contemporary kitchen
A couple wanted an updated kitchen, so larger shaker-style doors were installed for a full overlay. The simple subway tile backsplash adds a
dramatic contrast to the black window. A two-tone color palette was also incorporated by painting the island gray and creating an intimate space for two to dine under new drop pendant lights that emit a soft glow.
4 - Modern kitchen
Another couple desired something more modern and interesting, and also wanted a vented hood. So the cabinets above the sink were taken out and replaced with shiplap and floating shelves. The existing cabinets were transformed into flat-front cabinets with larger hardware, and subway tile and quartz countertops completed the look. It’s now a fun place to cook, and even dance!
