The Swan Haven Inn, built in 1860, was originally owned by Gustav Muhm, who was one of the original grape growers and wine producers in Augusta. Owners/innkeepers Jacqui and Gene Schaper opened the Bed & Breakfast in 2000. They had discovered the quaint historic home on one of their visits to the area.
"Augusta was our favorite place to relax, enjoy the scenery and wineries. When we noticed the old farmhouse for sale on Jackson St., we bought it then restored and updated the property. We enjoy meeting and chatting with our guests and making sure they have an enjoyable stay," says Jacqui.
The Swan Haven Inn is just a short stroll or drive to the wineries, antique stores and restaurants of Augusta. The Katy Trail, just blocks away, is a great way to explore the countryside and Klondike Park is a short drive away, where you can hike around the lake or along the Missouri River.
