A Seat at the Table

This October, Hilton West Palm Beach’s Dine for a Cause initiative supports Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

This October, dinner at Galley will offer more than a memorable meal. The signature restaurant at Hilton West Palm Beach is partnering with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer through its ongoing Dine for a Cause initiative.

Every Thursday throughout October, 10 percent of Galley’s proceeds will benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, giving diners a simple way to support breast cancer research, patient services and access to lifesaving screenings while enjoying a night out.

For more than two decades, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has brought communities together in the fight against the disease. Now the nation’s largest network of breast cancer events, the initiative raises funds while honoring survivors, supporting patients and families, and remembering those who have died from breast cancer.

The Hilton partnership leads into the local Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Saturday, October 24, at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton. The community event will bring together survivors, caregivers, families, supporters and fundraising teams around a shared mission.

“Working with Hilton is a pleasure every year,” says Lindsay Bennett, senior manager of market events for the American Cancer Society. “Partners like Hilton help build awareness across Palm Beach County for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, as well as for breast cancer survivors and their families.”

That awareness takes on added significance during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, when attention turns to early detection, patient support and continued research. Dine for a Cause offers residents another way to participate, even if they are unable to attend the walk. Simply choosing Galley for dinner on a Thursday contributes to the larger effort.

“At the American Cancer Society, more than 81 percent of every dollar raised goes directly back to our mission,” Bennett says.

Current menu standouts include lobster crispy rice with lobster claw salad, ponzu and spicy aioli; Wagyu beef short rib with butternut squash, zucchini and char-grilled baby corn; and steak frites with churrasco, pommes frites and chimichurri. For dessert, an oven-baked chocolate-chip cookie arrives warm with vanilla ice cream, sea salt and caramel.

Guests can dine inside Galley’s artful dining room or outdoors on the patio near its expansive fire pit.

Hilton West Palm Beach introduced Dine for a Cause in August 2021 to connect its dining program with organizations serving the surrounding community. Since its inception, the initiative has raised more than $200,000 for charitable organizations throughout Palm Beach County.

Previous beneficiaries have represented causes ranging from education and literacy to autism services, foster care, support for underserved communities, and opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It is a reminder that giving back doesn’t always require a gala ticket or a fundraising campaign. Sometimes, it can be as simple as deciding where to have dinner.

At Galley this October, pulling up a chair on Thursday night means making room at the table for a cause that touches countless Palm Beach County families.
