A Space for Every Story

Hear candid conversations on the Chocolate & Spice Talk podcast

Nidhi Singh has always been energized by people, easily stepping into new spaces, comfortable in crowds and conversation alike. Her sister, Neha Singh, has long been the opposite: private, quiet, and intentional about keeping a tight circle.

Yet where they diverge in temperament, they align in momentum. When inspiration strikes, both have a shared instinct to pick something up and run with it.

“In one of our regular calls, we wondered what it would be like to talk about topics from our very different lenses,” says Neha. “We didn’t know of any specific talk shows that had two sisters take 180-degree opposite viewpoints. And that was it, really!”

“I was excited but also a little hesitant. I had a six-year-old at home and wasn’t sure how much time or energy I could realistically dedicate,” says Nidhi. “But the more we talked about it, the more it felt natural. We already spend hours on the phone talking about life, family, work, parenting, relationships—so the question became: why not document these conversations?

What began as curiosity quickly evolved into something bigger. The sisters started chatting seriously about sharing their perspectives, learning from one another in real time, and putting something honest into the world. The goal was to speak openly about their journeys and see if they resonated with someone else navigating similar life experiences.

Within a week, their podcast was named Chocolate & Spice Talk, with Neha as the “chocolate” and Nidhi as the “spice.”

They started by digging into topics they knew intimately—childhood, motherhood, pregnancy, and aging. But with each episode, the ideas multiplied. For Neha, a standout moment came when her son joined the show for a valuable interview about arranged marriage and relationships. For Nidhi, their episode on money management and financial stability proved especially empowering.

Ultimately, getting to know one another on a deeper level has left a lasting impact, as their thoughtful discussions continue to peel back layers of themselves. After all, they don’t shy away from vulnerability or disagreeing respectfully.

“We’ve always been close since our teenage years, but this venture has helped us learn about so many more areas of our personalities and lives. We even discovered things we didn’t know about each other as we talked on this very open show,” says Neha.

“Being the younger sister, I grew up a little more carefree. She carried the weight of being the responsible one, and hearing her reflect on that has given me so much perspective,” says Nidhi. “Now that we’re older and hopefully wiser, those conversations feel even more meaningful.”

At its core, Chocolate & Spice Talk is meant to feel like a community. That’s why listener-suggested topics play such a central role, and why welcoming guests onto the show has been so rewarding. Each new voice brings another reminder that no two paths look the same.

“In this age of mass media and algorithmic inflation of bubbles, where nothing is about individuals anymore, we want to celebrate every single person,” says Neha. “We believe in the uniqueness of personalities, situations, stories. You don’t have to be the most successful or famous in anything to know how to live your life.”

“Nothing in life is purely right or wrong. It’s often just different. And it’s hard to understand someone else’s choices unless we take the time to hear their story,” says Nidhi. “We hope this podcast becomes a space where people feel encouraged to do exactly that.”
