While working as a stylist for fashion shows, photoshoots, and special events, Aysa Province began volunteering at Dell Children’s Blood and Cancer Center. Her first event, the hospital’s annual prom, struck a cord. Children exhausted from treatment were laughing, twirling in their gowns, and encouraging one another while admiring their hair and makeup.
Province realized one day of feeling celebrated could have a lasting impact on a child’s emotional well-being. Wanting patients to experience that joy more than once a year, she asked the hospital: What if they had a fashion show of their own?
With a $1,000 sponsorship and the showroom of a local car dealership, the community brought the vision to life.
“The models walked the runway with confidence, pride, and joy, and everyone in the room felt it,” says Province. “Families, volunteers, healthcare staff, and guests left feeling inspired, uplifted, and grateful to have witnessed something so special. It became clear that this event wasn’t just changing the lives of the children… It was changing all of us.”
A therapist at the clinic shared that patients talked about the fashion show for months afterward. And just three years later, Beautifully Loved officially became a nonprofit to expand their offerings.
“We provide fun, meaningful, and therapeutic experiences that build confidence, strengthen self-worth, and remind every family that they are deeply loved and never alone,” says Province.
Today, the fashion show remains central to Beautifully Loved’s mission. In 2026, 40 children and young adults walked the runway in three different outfits they were able to keep, while over 400 supporters cheered them on. The team is already preparing for their 12th annual show on February 27th, 2027 at PBS Austin.
“It’s impossible not to be moved as you watch these courageous kids step onto the runway, own the spotlight, and be celebrated for exactly who they are,” says Province.
The biggest blessing has always been the relationships. Over the years, the team has had the privilege of honoring countless milestone moments alongside the patients they serve.
Beautifully Loved strives to be a place families can turn to during life’s hardest seasons. They understand the emotional weight of hospital stays, long appointments, and difficult diagnoses. Through creativity, beauty, and connection, they hope to remind every child that healing isn’t only found in medicine—it’s also found in joy.
“I wanted to make a difference in the lives of families facing a child’s hospital journey, but they have given me just as much in return,” says Province. “They inspire me to grow and get better every day, and remind me that showing up for others is one of life’s greatest rewards.”
As Beautifully Loved’s mission reaches more lives, volunteers become more important than ever. The organization is seeking beauty and self-care professionals, ranging from hairstylists and barbers to licensed massage therapists and makeup artists. Volunteers can even help stock hospital shelves and carts with toiletries, clothing, hair care products, art supplies, journals, and spa kits.
Beautifully Loved also funds therapy services for patients and caregivers. By covering therapy visits, support groups, and mentorship opportunities, the nonprofit removes financial barriers so families can access critical support without feeling overwhelmed. Donations and sponsorships make that care possible.
“When we are supported, we are empowered to continue creating moments of hope, confidence, and care,” says Province. “It truly is a full circle of love—a win for the families we serve, a win for the volunteers who give their time and talents, and a win for the entire community.”
