A Step Back in Time

Experience Christmas in the 1800s

You can experience a night of warmth and beauty this holiday season at The Historic Daniel Boone Home. More than 900 guests each night will be taking a step back in time to observe Christmas traditions of the past while strolling through the enchanting village illuminated with thousands of candles. The village comes alive as guests experience the practices of different cultures and how the holiday was celebrated on the frontier in the early 1800s. Along the way, they’ll visit with Daniel Boone as he reminisces about winters past. They’ll hear holiday tales both familiar and new as they make your way through the historic park.

Then, there’s hot apple cider and traditional carols to enjoy. This year’s musical performances will be held inside the Old Peace Chapel and include selections by the Greenleaf Singers, St. Peters Choral Society and other local choirs.

Sessions are held at 6, 7 and 8 p.m., on Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the park. To pre-register, call 636.798.2005 or visit STCCParks.org and click on “Activity Registration.” The Daniel Boone Home is located at 1868 Highway F in Defiance.
