Since 1988, Wilson Bank & Trust (WBT) has taken community banking beyond its financial services, creating an experience families have enjoyed for generations: the Wilson Bank & Trust Oktoberfest.
Scott Jasper, EVP – Chief Administration Officer, says, “What started with a single antique car and a grill has grown into one of Lebanon's most anticipated annual traditions.”
Year-over-year, on average, Oktoberfest now features over 120 local artisans, local food, live entertainment and more than 500 antique cars that draw participants from across the region. The family-friendly fun also includes the popular Kiddie Corner, where kids can enjoy free inflatables and activities like cookie decorating.
With Oktoberfest running for nearly four decades, the event has become a staple tradition for many families.
Jasper says, “For our team, it's incredibly meaningful to see generations of families attend together year after year. We are honored to continue this tradition in our hometown of Lebanon and to provide an event that reflects the same values Wilson Bank & Trust was founded on nearly 40 years ago: community, service, and connection.”
There is as much purpose as there is fun at Oktoberfest. The event provides opportunities for local vendors to highlight their products and mission in front of thousands of attendees. WBT has also worked with nonprofit organizations throughout the years, offering complimentary participation opportunities.
“… in recent years we've expanded those efforts by allowing organizations to operate games and activities while keeping the donations they receive. In addition, the bank provides financial contributions to further support their work,” adds Jasper.
Oktoberfest also creates opportunities for local students participating in programs like Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Tennessee Promise.
Jasper explains, “Students volunteer throughout the event while earning service hours, and Wilson Bank & Trust makes donations back to their schools in recognition of their contributions. It's a meaningful way to invest in both today's community and the next generation of leaders.”
This year’s event will take place Oct. 17 and 18 at the bank’s main campus on 623 W Main St.
For anyone who is new to the event, Jasper says, “Visitors can expect a weekend full of shopping, great food, live entertainment, family activities, and a welcoming community atmosphere.”
Come experience Lebanon’s time-honored tradition, packed with family fun and rooted in community connection.
