A Town Treasure, Meli-Melo

Since 1994, Meli-Melo has been a local favorite providing a variety of items like sandwiches, soups, salads, sweet and savory crepes, and more. Owners, Marc and Evelyne Penvenne, grew up eating French cuisine and when they moved to Greenwich they decided to open the French cafe as a homage to the cuisine.

Meli-Melo is a staple to defining the importance of local love within the community. A true local gem, the restaurant has an art program where local artists can show their work in the space on a rotating basis.

The cafe has a vast amount of offerings, with a menu that is always expanding as their business has grown immensely over the past 25 plus years. Meli-Melo is open 7 days a week with a breakfast menu and an all day menu provided. They recently launched Grab & Go items just before the pandemic with many of the menu favorites but also salad dressings, jam, local honey, granola, along with comfort foods such as: dulce de leche, matcha, bread pudding, brownies.

Daily soup offerings and an extensive juice bar menu are also a crowd favorite, and the cafe makes up to a dozen flavors of all-natural ice cream and sorbet. During the pandemic, the restaurant also added wine and beer to its offerings for customers.

Versailles patisserie supplies the fresh viennoiserie each morning, and has a sister restaurant up the street called Bistro V. Along with its various offerings, Meli-Melo is also available for catering special events and corporate meetings. Millionair.com is one of Meli-Melo's new catering accounts.

They are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., as well as Saturday's from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday's 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. You can see their various menus at their website https://www.melimelogreenwich.com, or by stopping in at their storefront at 362 Greenwich Avenue!
