Sterling Jones is known for being in 2023’s blockbuster Barbie, along with roles in NCIS and Grey’s Anatomy... but he’s also a superstar via horseback.

Sterling is one of the celeb guests partaking in 2024’s 13th Polo Party this October at WestWorld.
“The entertainment industry can be incredibly stressful and demanding, and playing polo serves as a valuable stress relief. Every time I finish a game, I feel remarkably invigorated and ready to do it again.”
We scored a chat with the polo-loving actor on his personal style vibe, closet staples, and the celeb’s next big screen project.
Describe your style on and off the horse.
On the horse, I keep it safe and fun. I’ve seen photos of myself playing polo, and I often have such a wide grin that I look dorky, but it’s so genuine.
Off the horse, my style is versatile. I love combining classic elements with vintage touches. For example, I enjoy pairing a high-quality, stylish jean with a vintage shirt, or reversing that by wearing a brand-name shirt with well-worn, torn jeans. I believe in keeping my style dynamic and unpredictable, often choosing pieces that challenge my usual fashion choices. If I have the thought, “Oh I'll never wear this,” I buy it. This approach allows me to continually evolve and express myself through what I wear. Also, I'm not afraid to dress younger than I am. Bring on the baggy jeans!

Why do you love playing polo?
Polo has significantly boosted my confidence both on and off the field. There's truly no better feeling than executing a solid hit and seeing the ball go exactly where you intend. However, the game is more than scoring goals. The most rewarding aspect of the sport has been the incredible people I’ve met. For example, Marc and Melissa Ganzi are two of the most incredible people I have ever known. They introduced me to polo and some of my closest friends who have truly become family. The Grand Champions polo crew is the most supportive and loving group.
What’s it like playing in the Valley?
Last year was my first year playing at Scottsdale’s Polo Party and I was blown away. I heard so much hype around the event and it lived up to its reputation. The event is all my favorite things combined, especially the music; I was sweaty from dancing.
You grew up on a horse ranch, so clearly you have a connection with horses. What do they mean to you?
I know dogs are dubbed man's best friend, and I agree- my dog is literally the love of my life. However, I’d say the horse is a close 2nd for that position. Horses are part of the human DNA; they helped us evolve into the species we are today. I had my first horse at 5 years old and hope to never know life without them.
Any movies you're working on?
I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the feature version of my short film, Hit Friends, which I wrote and starred in. After a fantastic festival run with the short, we're thrilled to expand it into a full-length feature! Literally a dream come true.
