Adventure Awaits

Explore the Backcountry of Snohomish with Dana Swanson of Allied Motorsport

History, Community, Honesty and Adventure. These are the main themes that quickly become apparent from just one conversation with Dana and Bree Swanson owners of Allied Motorsport.

When walking into the building, located just off Bickford in Snohomish, the showroom greets visitors with all sorts of products to help enhance their off-roading experience. However, the highlight will surely be the firm handshake and smile from Dana, quickly followed with “What can we do to help?”

Both Dana and Bree are graduates of Snohomish High School and Bree is a 4th generation Snohomish resident. When asked about why they settled in Snohomish, Dana responds with “Both our families are from Snohomish, we graduated from Snohomish. I’ve worked in Snohomish before I spent some time working for various shops in Marysville, but I always find myself coming back to Snohomish.”

Bree follows up with “Snohomish is home.”

When told that the article would primarily focus on Dana for our June 2024 Men's Issue, Bree proceeded to talk about how much she and other people adore him and his genuine care. “I get to hear from people who have known him longer than the 13 years we have been together - I married a man of integrity, I know that. But hearing other people see some of the same wonderful things just speaks to how much he cares.”

Dana comes with 40 years of consistent experience in the automotive industry, working primarily in service writing and researching parts for clients. One thing that sets Dana apart from others is that he is always happy and willing to jump into the hands-on work with his crew of highly skilled technicians.

Dana’s experience offers him a unique perspective when it comes to serving his own customers. While talking with him, it is clear that he is always looking to do right by the customer. When asked about the standard in the industry, Dana answers with “A lot of people (in this field) aren’t big picture and that's the problem. It’s hard to see the big picture of fixing something just because you should. It costs you money and time today. But if you don’t fix it today, as a business owner, that can cost you a customer tomorrow.”

“He’s been doing this a long time, so he has built his idea of how he wants to treat and help customers, and that is shown by how many of our clients have been with him since the beginning.” Added Bree.

This was made evident last year when Dana and Bree found themselves in unfamiliar territory. One of Dana’s long-time customers came to him and asked what Dana would need to open his own shop. His customer was willing to be the investor for Dana’s dream, and that quickly became a reality. Over the next 4 months, with some vision, faith, and help from their community the doors at Allied Motorsport were opened to the world. “How this happened, isn’t the way we would have done things in our minds, it was painful, but people kept showing up to help along the way,” says Dana.

As one long-time Allied customer stated, “It doesn’t matter where Dana is working, it's not about the shop, people follow Dana. He has always done right by me, and I trust him.”
