Aging on Your Terms

Visiting Angels helps people maintain their independence.

When we age we think about losing strength, elastin, or balance. Yet, perhaps what is even dearer to most is their independence. For those who still want to live in their home but may need some extra help, Visiting Angels provides the care they need. Care Manager, Melissa McCracker, spoke of the many helpful services they provide to the elderly who still want to feel independent or may not have loved ones living nearby.

Visiting Angels provides assistance with in-home, non-medical care. Melissa says that carers can act as 'personal assistants' and help with things like meal preparation, laundry, cleaning around the house, help with dressing, or even taking them to appointments. In this way, help comes to the comfort of their own home to keep people 55 and older safe and give them tailored support.

Melissa says they have seen their clients improve their quality of life and create close bonds with their carers. Each carer is screened and paired with a client that they are most compatible with. As a result, Melissa says she has seen many beautiful friendships formed in the process.

Visiting Angels offers short term and long term care, with a minimum of a 4 hour visit. There are no contractual obligations and the visits can be paused as needed. In addition, Visiting Angels provides lots of resources for whatever people might need from plumbers to hair dressers. They even have a list of mobile services that come right to your door.

If you or your loved one is needing a bit of help, Visiting Angels could work for you and on your terms. Not only will they cater to your needs but give you that independence as well as some peace of mind.
