Dr. Stephanie Graziani grew up in Florida, swimming and playing soccer year round. She loved math and science and excelled academically. She studied zoology, worked at an animal hospital, lived in California and New York, and then returned to her pursuit of and passion in optometry. Stephanie and her husband now live in Candelas with their six year old son, 4 year old daughter, and 13 year old dog. They love hiking and biking together as a family.
Dr. Graziani and her friendly staff perform comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, emergency eye care, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma treatment and management, and myopia control. To stay eco friendly and encourage patients to use less gasoline, they give a $5 discount on glasses for each patient who walks, bikes, or carpools to their office!
The team at Mountain Breeze Optometry focuses on frames that are eco-friendly: 25% of their frames are sustainably sourced, and they only hope to increase that percentage over time. For example, the brand Dragon has a plant-based resin collection made from sustainably grown castor beans, and an upcycled collection made from single use plastic water bottles. They carry several brands that make wood frames, like Shwood (which is also made in the USA) and Arbor. Pure Eyewear has a line that is manufactured using a process that uses significantly less electricity and water than standard manufacturing processes. All of these eco-friendly details matter to Dr. Graziani and her team.
Furthermore, they use technology to cut down on paper usage. Mountain Breeze Optometry uses an electronic medical records system instead of paper charts, has an e-signature pad to sign HIPAA forms, and emails receipts to patients.
All of their lights are eco-friendly and their appliances too, including the water heater. They set an example for all businesses, showing that a fairly simple yet eco-friendly plan can make big waves.
