Top Allen Parks to Visit This Summer

Country Meadows Park
Prepare to take flight at the newest park playground in Allen. This hot-air balloon themed playground debuted at Country Meadows Park in early 2024. The play zone includes a shade structure, swings, slides and plenty of climbing features for all ages. Located in northeast Allen, Country Meadows Park features a hike and bike loop trail, pavilion, picnic tables and plenty of open space for frisbees and flying kites. 

Spirit Park
A trip to Spirit Park is always a home run! This large park spans over 70 acres and includes softball fields, a cricket field, fitness stations, restrooms, picnic tables, tons of open space and easy access to trails nearby. An expansive hideout-themed playground welcomes kids of all ages and includes playful features on which to slide, spin and swing.

Heritage Park
Travel along the Cottonwood Trail and you’ll come across Heritage Park. Nestled between a neighborhood and nearby nature, the playground is a real crowd-pleaser. Beautiful landscaping surrounds the play zone featuring a multiple slides, swings, and creative climbing structures (including an alligator). With its pavilion, drinking fountain and benches, this park is the perfect place to stop along the trail for rest or play.

Dayspring Nature Preserve
Breathe in the fresh air when visiting Dayspring Nature Preserve. Gravel and paved trails weave through the tranquil area leading visitors to pavilions, picnic tables, open spaces and a playground in the heart of the preserve. Shade structures and tall trees provide a cool environment for the playground area featuring a tunnel, swings, climbing features and slides. With Watters Trail nearby, exploration is ideal both on and off the playground.

Celebration Park
Have a family picnic on the grassy plain at Celebration Park or rent out a pavilion to host a birthday party. If it gets too hot, don't forget to pack your bathing suit and bring your towels for the splash pad. This park features expansive playgrounds, splash pads, and sports fields, making it perfect for family outings.

Allen Station Park
Allen Station Park is undergoing renovations this summer, but you can still enjoy its amenities. Catch sports action at the ballpark or stroll the Historic Water Station Trail, offering a glimpse into local history and a peaceful outdoor experience. Dive into history along the interpretive trail at Allen's Old Stone Dam, powering steam locomotives since 1874.

The Edge at Allen Station Park
One of the largest skate parks in Texas, The Edge offers thrilling experiences for anyone with a skateboard, scooter, skates or BMX bike. In addition to outdoor skate park areas, The Edge is home to an indoor facility open to ages 10-17 with foosball and pool tables, video gaming systems and a snack bar. 

The Trail at the Woods
Looking for a brief nature escape? The moderate hike through Allen's wooded trails, under one mile, is perfect. Delight in birdsongs and the gentle murmur of Rowlett Creek as you meander along unpaved paths. It's a tranquil mini-adventure for those seeking a refreshing outdoor experience in the heart of the city.
