This is a comforting, winter, family dinner, and it's easy to prepare extra for multiple meals.
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 14 ounces diced tomatoes
- 5.5 ounces tomato juice
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Instructions:
- Boil water and cook pasta according to package directions.
- In a separate pot, add butter and onion and sauté about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add green pepper and cook till soft--about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes, sauce, juice, paste, sugar, spices, and Worcestershire Sauce. Cook until evenly heated.
- Add the cooked pasta and stir to coat. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Recipe Variations:
Consider using ground turkey instead of ground beef, adding 1-2 cups of mozzarella or parmesan cheese, or adding mushrooms to make this just right for you and your family.
