Deciding on the Thanksgiving dinner menu, creating festive door decorations and planning post-dinner activities may all take priority over selecting the perfect table setting to make your family and guests feel comfortable. But check out this table display by Chef Jackie and her team at Harmons Cooking School in Santa Clara.
Jackie has selected smart tablecloths, gold-tinted flatware and decorations from local shops, including Harmons. She utilizes leaves and foliage from the garden to decorate the table. Pumpkins, red-skinned pears, grapes in cheeseboard wheels and towers tease the senses. Large strands of twisted beads complement the table settings. The sky is the limit in being imaginative and making your guests grateful and full of thanks for the season. Putting in the effort to make your family feel like kings and queens of the day will not go unnoticed.
For those who may opt for a non-alcoholic beverage, Jackie offers the following easy recipe:
Thanksgiving Cocktail (non-alcoholic)
In a tall glass or goblet, add two droppers of apple bitters; add one-half glass of apple cider; fill the remainder of the glass with 7-UP. Stir and enjoy. If desired, garnish with an apple slice and a cinnamon stick for stirring.
