“My passion for the cigar industry escalated when I worked for Ashton Distributors, a world-famous cigar brand. During my time at Ashton, I met great people in the industry and visited hundreds of cigar stores around the country,” he says. “Several years ago, I shared my dream of creating such a place with a couple of close friends, and we started working together to make Fireside Cigar a reality. We have a great staff and fantastic customer base at Fireside. Collectively, they have taken hold of the vision of building community and welcoming newcomers and seasoned cigar lovers to Fireside. That’s community building and that is Fireside Cigar.”
Locker memberships are available for those desiring a private place to keep their collection of cigars and spirits. Matt understands the last 18 months have been a very interesting time for the cigar industry.
“The industry has experienced tremendous growth. During most of last year people were enjoying cigars on their own at home. Since we have opened our doors this year, we have seen that people are hungry to be around others again. For most people, many aspects of their life are very different than they were two years ago,” he says. “Many people still feel isolated working from home or remote, not traveling as much as they used to, not going out as often with friends. I think all those things make people really desire a community, somewhere they can connect with others, be known for who they are and embrace meaningful and memorable moments.”
