Art in Our City

Beautiful Art Awaits to be Seen

Sometimes we have a need for adventure, to abandon our square mile, and go experience all that life has to offer. We begin searching the internet for exotic vacations, private beaches, Greek and Italian Islands, or even an African safari. But wait! Have you really seen and experienced all that your own community has to offer? I thought I would highlight a few places to start and then you can visit the places and museums that you've discovered on one of the tours. I’m the person who goes some place, glances at what it has to offer before-hand, and then…oh my gosh…after seeing it, I have to go home and research everything about it. The history, the stories, the buildings, the people, the traditions, the food and then I have to go back again to re-experience it. The Tunnel Tour in Tulsa is what enticed me to find out 'Everything Tulsa'. Take a camera or use your phone, eat, explore and have fun.

Tours of Tulsa

provides a wide variety of tours in and around Tulsa.  Walking and step-on tours introduce visitors to Tulsa’s past and present, either through pre-planned tours or adventures designed specifically for you, your family, or your group.  Whether you’re a visitor to Tulsa, a new or soon to be resident, or a Tulsa native interested in learning more about your hometown or revisiting old haunts, they would love to prepare a tour just for you.

Tulsa Foundation for Architecture 2nd Saturday Tours

Each month they offer these popular walking tours highlighting some of Downtown Tulsa’s architectural treasures. Their docents point out features of unique buildings and offer historical perspectives. Each tour is different but will typically include a visit to a lobby, a tunnel, or maybe even an oil baron’s penthouse! On any given tour, you might see beautiful examples of Art Deco, Beaux Arts, Gothic Revival and Mid-Century Modern buildings.

These monthly tours start at 10:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month. Tickets are sold in advance and children under 12 are free if accompanied by a paid adult.
