Art in Public View

Curating a collection for residents to enjoy

Prairiebrooke has been a staple in the Downtown Overland Park community since 1990 and is known for having original artwork and custom framing. However, its influence extends far beyond homes, serving as the go-to art resource for healthcare, corporate, hospitality and multifamily projects across Kansas City and beyond.

Prairiebrooke’s artwork can be seen at numerous local landmarks, including Advent Health, Country Club Bank, Verbena and The Inn at Meadowbrook. Recent high-profile projects include Hallbrook Country Club and Advent Health Cancer Institute. Each piece of original artwork is thoughtfully designed to enrich its environment and leave a lasting impression on visitors for years to come.

Every Prairiebrooke project is a carefully curated collection tailored to meet the client’s design vision. Whether it’s a single piece in a conference room or hundreds of works adorning hotel corridors or hospital spaces, Prairiebrooke ensures each project aligns with its client’s goals.

Megan Hoban is the second generation owner of this iconic full service art house.

“Our art consulting services handle the project in its entirety, including design, production, custom framing and installation,” says Hoban. “We design each project to be completed on time and on budget.”

By introducing art into workplaces, Prairiebrooke helps bring life to blank walls, improving employee performance and enhancing brand identity. Thoughtfully selected artwork helps to create an inviting setting for the hospitality industry and also can convey comfort and healing in healthcare settings.

“The colors, imagery, substrate, size, framing and placement play a key role in a well designed art plan. Our expertise as an art consultant is to pull all these elements together into a cohesive and beautiful collection.”

Operating from its Overland Park gallery and framing facilities, Prairiebrooke manages every aspect of the project from design to delivery. Decades of experience enable the team to blend access to original gallery art with exclusive giclée print collections, providing cost-effective solutions for large-scale projects. Additionally, collaborations with skilled sculptors expand collections beyond walls, offering striking freestanding works for outdoor spaces.

“Well designed art is not only beautiful, but can carry meaning beyond the canvas. At Hallbrook Country Club, a special feature in the collection includes a painting of the original Hall family barn by Nathan Novack. If you look closely in the barn window, Novack includes a subtle image of Hole #10, thoughtfully included as foreshadowing of the award winning golf course that now sits in its sights.”

In the lobby of Advent Health’s Cancer Institute, visitors are welcomed by a two-story painting by renowned regional artist, Britten. Other works of art can also be seen throughout the hospital.

“Britten worked with layers of metallic washes and paints to create an ethereal landscape certain to capture the eye and engage the viewer in a visual journey. Large scale Flint Hills landscape works by Cristine Sundquist, Dianna Bartel and KC cityscapes by Allan Chow provide comforting imagery of the Midwest and Kansas City. Colorful abstracts and transitional florals by Ashley Meehan and Noach Desmond vary the collection with color, texture and energy.”

Prairiebrooke Art Consulting transforms spaces by merging beauty and meaning, creating collections that leave a lasting impression. From healthcare to hospitality, their work combines artistic expertise with a deep understanding of client needs.
