Shhhhhhhhhhhh. Want in on a secret?

Newtown City Lifestyle readers, who now know to request three special, off-menu cocktails at River House at Odette’s in New Hope, are in for a treat.

The cocktails originally were created for Odette’s 2022 Bastille Day celebration, with an indoor/outdoor Parsian fair featuring the trio of St~Germain cocktails and local vendors on July 14. In France, Bastille Day is formally called the Fête nationale française; legally it's known as le 14 juillet. It celebrates the unity of French people. This year's local celebration recreated the sights and sounds of The City of Light in several ways.

St~Germain is a French liqueur made with fresh elderflowers, hand-picked once a year in the late spring. It has become widely popular due to its flavor that's often collectively described as light, sweetly floral and fragrant, with notes of citrus, pear and passionfruit.

“River House at Odette’s ‘Fete de la Bastille’ was inspired by the bon vivant spirit of French-American actress Odette Myrtil, who continues to serve as our inspiration behind every initiative at the hotel. With the hotel’s French roots playing such an important role in its identity and guest experience, partnering with French liqueur brand, St~Germain, was a natural and authentic fit,” explains Ron Gorodesky, founder and CEO of Refined Hospitality.

Partnering with local businesses for the "Terrasse Odette," Ron says there was music, picnic tables, a variety of shopping, St~Germain cocktails and French wines.

“Just as the Riverhouse at Odette’s was inspired by the vibrant personality and French flair of Odette Myrtil, these St~Germain cocktails tie in the everlasting joyful decadence and celebration that the French-American performer and Bastille Day are famous for," says Earlecia Richelle, St~Germain national brand ambassador.

The three St~Germain Spritz variations not only offer new spins on the classic drink, allowing elderflower to take center stage, Earlecia says, but they also are designed to inspire guests to effortlessly elevate moments together. "Marrying the flavors of tangy ginger with the bright floral taste of St~Germain, the Nouveau Jour offers a vibrant and spirited sensation. Similarly, both the Bisous and The Last Time I Saw Paris utilize the citrus notes of grapefruit, paired with the elderflower taste, to create cocktails perfect for leisurely afternoon sipping.”

This successful Bastille Day attracted 250 attendees, who enjoyed living their chicest Parisian life with a whole lot of Joie de vivre. It was free for all who participated, and one fortunate guest, area resident Timmy Mann, won a complimentary stay at River House.

To try these three extraordinary cocktails, remember to ask for them at Odette's with a knowing wink!
