A Studio Built for Collaborative Design

Allison Moore is an artist at heart who has always loved to paint, draw, craft and design, so the foray into starting Atelier House Designs was the perfect collaboration. An Atelier Haus is a private studio or workshop used by a designer or artist.

“We work with other designers across Houston and collaborate on projects because we are all so busy and are managing different workloads,” explains Allison. “To have a place where others can come and create and work with one another and not be in a competitive environment was my goal.”

Atelier Haus is more than an interior design firm. They work on renovations, whole home renovations, and new builds from start to finish. Architecture, art, and fashion have been a big influence for Allison along the way. Her design studio is full of colorful bolts of fabric and pieces that will inspire clients to be bold.

Allison explains how she and her team at Atelier Haus watch the trends, and if products are not moving, they move in new products with updated colors or textures on par with trends for what clients are seeking. Atelier Haus also has a gift boutique and curates handmade gifts from artisans from all over the world to support other small businesses and entrepreneurs, mostly from the United States, but a few from across the globe. The unique pieces make wonderful gifts year-round and clients become lifelong customers and vice versa.

“I’ve always dreamed of having a design studio of my own,” shares Allison Moore, “We also host and co-host special events.”

From Galentine’s events, to summer evenings that include: Pinot and Portrait with a friend, and a Christmas in July with the Junior League of the Woodlands, the team at Atelier Haus provides their creative services to the community while networking and sustaining relationships.

Working with National Kitchen and Bath Association and their chair Kay Diamond, to brainstorm how they can open up to area students to gain experience and learn through shadowing in the industry. Alison recalls how difficult that was for her 20 years ago to get into the industry. “The more knowledge we can pass onto the younger generation, and people who love design, the better,” says Allison

Atelier Haus is very client-driven, be it designing and decorating new builds to renovating and designing for those clients with family heirlooms and their wants and needs. Traditional clients might be looking to design their forever home, or those clients aging in place, and Allison and her team have a plethora of ideas and a variety of options for the long-term inspiration.  The time spent with clients is all consuming once the design process starts, through the finish until the homes are completed, and even after.

"To have a place where others can create and work together, not be in a competitive environment was my goal."
