Autumn Apple Spice Bliss

Harvest Spice Elixir: A Symphony of Autumn's Bounty

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz premium bourbon
  • 1 oz apple cider (freshly pressed, if available)
  • 1/2 oz cinnamon-infused simple syrup (see instructions below)
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 thin apple slice (for garnish)
  • Fall spice rim (see instructions below)
  • Fresh rosemary sprig (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cinnamon-Infused Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Simmer over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool, then remove the cinnamon sticks.
  2. Fall Spice Rim: On a small plate, mix together 2 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, and a pinch of ground nutmeg. Rub the rim of your glass with a lemon wedge, then gently dip it into the spice mixture until the rim is coated.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add bourbon, apple cider, cinnamon-infused simple syrup, and lemon juice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice.
  5. Place a thin apple slice in the glass, letting it float on the surface.
  6. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig. Lightly smack the rosemary sprig between your hands before placing it on top of the drink to release its aromatic oils.
