The Kathryn Thomas Team

As dual-licensed realtors (in Kansas and Missouri), certified accredited buyers representatives and relocation specialists, The Kathryn Thomas Team specializes in executive relocation, luxury markets, resale, new construction and condos/lofts. 

Thomas is regarded as a motivated, no-nonsense professional with strong negotiation skills and a welcoming and candid personality. Nearly 30 years ago, she emigrated from Basildon, England and has been a proud Kansas Citian ever since. After graduating from William Jewell College with a bachelor’s degree in business and emphasis in marketing specialties, Thomas obtained her real estate license in 2002 and found her niche. 

“Real estate is the only career I’ve had, and I’m fortunate to truly love it,” she says. “I value the relationships along the way and getting to know people on such a personal level.”

Her success story is a study in determinism. With no close family in the states, Thomas singlehandedly jumpstarted her business. Seven years later in 2009, Thomas was voted into “Kansas City’s TOP 20 in their Twenties” by Ingram’s Magazine and named a Five-Star Agent by KCMagazine for 2006-2014. 

Thomas is quick to credit her team of four full-time selling agents, an office manager, and a client care manager. 

“I’m so proud of my team,” Thomas says. “We’re a well-oiled machine with a similar work ethic who support one another personally and professionally. We’re proud of our aggressive negotiation style that achieves the best price and terms for our clients. But we’re more than just agents. We’re also volunteering in the community and juggling our families and lives. I work with such a wonderful group and feel so blessed to go to work each day.”

Thomas takes seriously everything in her life, including her passion for philanthropy: “We take so much for granted in life, and volunteering truly warms the soul.”  

Thomas volunteers weekly with hospice, and she and her team have been involved with the Ronald McDonald House, Trent Green Golf Classic Tournament, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Kauffman Scholar Program, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Susan G. Komen Foundation.

A typical day for Thomas starts with working out, checking in with her staff, answering calls/emails, and prioritizing her day based on contracts, closings, appraisals, inspections, appointments, etc. She laughs at the misnomer of keeping life in balance.

“Something is always off balance in everyone’s life,” she says. “But time management brings it back into balance. The goal is to be as prepared and efficient as possible, and always stay ready for a new challenge.”
