Music Is In The Air In Sumner County All Summer Long

Nothing beats the summer heat and humidity like a cool nighttime concert. When grooving to their favorite tunes, everyone tends to forget about the sweltering weather and the pesty mosquitoes that pervade the outdoors this time of year.

Given Hendersonville’s proximity to the nation’s Music City, Nashville, it is only natural that many of the world’s finest singers, songwriters, musicians and producers call Sumner County home. In addition, the local community is also a breeding ground for the next generation of artists eager to make their name in the music world.

With all of this talent on hand, it is only natural that the community is teeming with live music opportunities that take place all across the county. As such, your Hendersonville Lifestyle team is happy to tell you about some of our area’s most popular music events that will keep you chill during the long, summer nights.

Summer Songwriters Concert Series

The Rock Castle Summer Songwriters Series is a long-running set of monthly concerts featuring established and up-and-coming singers and musicians featuring a blend of all genres of music. Along with exciting performances, each concert also features food trucks, Half Batch craft beers and games and inflatables for the younger set. Artists slated to perform this summer include the Imaginaries, Western Boy, the Woods and Ashes & Arrows.

Streets Summer Concert Series

The Streets Summer Concert Series draws hundreds of guests each week who are treated to a variety of some of the area’s most popular bands. From country to rock, and every genre in between, the concerts keep locals entertained all summer long. This season’s scheduled performers include Billy Gaines, the Luggnutts, Top Tier Band and Chips & Salsa.

3rd Thursday on Main

The 3rd Thursday on Main Concert Series draws attracts hundreds of music lovers each month to a venue sited on the historic Gallatin Square. A wide variety of genres of music are represented, and the performances are sure to please all guests.  who are treated to a variety of some of the area’s most popular bands. From country to rock, and every genre in between, the concerts keep locals entertained all summer long. This season’s scheduled performers include Clint Park, Tony Logue & the 184, Ryan Daniel and Ty Gregory.

Freedom Festival

The annual Freedom Festival is one of the area’s largest events, typically drawing tens of thousands of locals and visitors each July 3. The event features a wide variety of musical entertainment, merchandise booths, food trucks, fireworks, and of course, music. Each year, the festival features several different established entertainers, as well as showcasing rising performers through the popular “Hendersonville Has Talent” competition.

Music on Memorial

The Music on Memorial Concert Series draws large crowds for each event held at beautiful Peay Park.  Different musical genres and styles are featured at the family-friendly concerts, which also include a kid zone and food trucks. This season’s scheduled performers are the Moonshine Outlaws, B3 Band, Beatles 4 Sale, Conspiracy Theory Band and Sean Carson.
