On Point Beauty is the hair product line that people are talking about! The product line was born out of On Point Beauty Bar, located on the Welton Corridor in the heart of Five Points. This hair and beauty salon founded by Priya Burkett and Vicky Howard, is a black and brown owned business, cementing these two women as strong role models in the Denver community. They have dubbed themselves ‘Glow Getters’, defining it as, “A person that is living their authentic self and prioritizes self-care. [Someone who] Embraces their naturally fierce confidence to achieve in their passions, professions, and communities.” Burkett and Howard’s goal is to create an inclusive space and brand for people to “Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good.” Priya Burkett worked in the corporate world for more than 30 years. She started as computer programmer to leading a sales team for American Express, before she co-founded On Point Beauty. When asked what skills transferred from her corporate life she said, “Developing relationships, process improvement, and grit,” each of which, on top of her dedication, allows her small business to thrive. For Burkett, a Glow Getter means, “someone that is consistently working hard to get everything they need to get done while valuing self-care.” For the past 10 plus years Vicky Howard has worked in similar hair salons and now runs On Point Beauty Bar. Howard believes that a Glow Getter is, “a human that is passionate and persistent about achieving their goals whether it is personal or professional and wants to look On Point while doing so.” Through this journey as an entrepreneur, she has learned how vital good communication and being organized is to a business’ success. Now Howard and Burkett have their own hair product line, allowing them to spread their message outside of On Point Beauty Bar and help others become Glow Getters. The products’ focus is to deliver hydration to the hair and scalp, especially living in a dry climate such as Denver. Howard’s core message to her clients is, “Hydrating your hair from the inside as well as the outside is the key foundation to amazing hair.” You can find On Point Beauty products in shops around Denver like their salon, Three Arrows Gallery, and Flying Solo, a boutique in Soho New York.
