Becoming Brooke Burke

A New Era of Strength, Softness, and Self-Reinvention

For many women, Brooke Burke was not simply the woman we watched. She was the woman we grew up with. She was the face on our fitness DVDs, the voice in our living rooms, the woman so many of us admired long before wellness became an industry. And now, years later, Brooke is offering something far more meaningful than workouts. She is offering connection, community, and a genuine chance to come back home to yourself.

Talking to Brooke feels familiar. She is still radiant and warm, but also grounded, intentional, and deeply self-aware. The titles we used to give her do not fully fit anymore. She has grown past them.

“I feel like I am every woman. I evolve and change every season, and I am different today than I was last year," she reflects.

And she means it.

Reinvention, for Brooke, is not a brand. It's a life practice. A muscle she has strengthened through divorce, motherhood, blended family dynamics, career pivots, cancer survival, and the quiet internal work of softening when the world expected her to be steel.

This is the Brooke Burke we meet now; a guide, a teacher, a woman who continues to become.

Here, she opens up with candor, humor, vulnerability, and wisdom in a conversation that feels like catching up with someone we have known forever.

What is the title that feels most true to you today?

I am the sum of a lot of different stories. Every chapter of my life forces a reinvention, and I am constantly reintroducing myself to myself.

What is one daily ritual that you swear by?

I start every morning with lemon water. The whole lemon. Skin, seeds, pulp, everything. People tease me and call me the lemon lady, but everything we need is in the skin. Antioxidants, gut health, detox. And when I do that one intentional thing, the tone of my entire day shifts.

Your retreats are exploding, from Arizona to Costa Rica. What draws you to this work?

Every time I guide a retreat, I leave wanting more. It is not a vacation where you need another vacation. It is a reset. A redesign. A chance to reimagine your life. And women show up hungry for change. Hungry to reconnect with themselves. I take that seriously because time away is such a privilege. I cram every pillar of mind, body, and energy into the experience so they walk away transformed.

Women feel such a strong bond with you. What does that connection look like behind the scenes?

It is undeniable. We are together from breakfast to dinner. We share meals, stories, tears, breakthroughs. We form lifelong friendships. One of my best friends came from a retreat. Women want to be seen. We want to be heard. We want a safe space to soften. And these retreats give us that.

What has been the biggest letting-go moment in your life, the one that shifted you?

Many. Divorce. Leaving ABC after almost a decade. Reinventing myself publicly. Blending a family. Cancer. Living without guilt or shame. The strongest women are the ones who know how to surrender. Softening is strength.

What helped you actually get stronger?

Life. Experience. Wellness. Guiding women all over the world and learning from them. I do not just teach. I absorb. And coming back to Arizona feels like coming home. There is something about the desert. The neutral palette, the landscape. My stress level drops the minute I land.

How did Brooke Burke Body evolve into a global community?

It started as a fitness app and became a campus. Mind, body, energy. Hormones. Feminine health. Meditation. Strength. We do live streams. We do panels. Thousands of women. Hours of content. And every Monday morning we meet as a community. Some women do not even love fitness. They come for the connection.

You said beauty comes from joy. What brings you joy now?

Family, of course. Motherhood is my foundation. But joy came when I finally put myself at the top of my to-do list. When I lowered my stress. When I carved out girlfriend getaways. When I let myself feel the spirit of a child again. Our spirit is ageless. It does not know numbers.

How do you create that kind of wellness daily?

I meditate. I did not do that in my 40s. I could not quiet my monkey brain. But now the more I meditate, the clearer I am. I walk a lot. I take walking meetings. I cook. Scott and I grill. I eat really well but I also love a bottle of red wine and a good pasta night. And no, I do not have a chef or a driver. I am a carpool mom who happens to run a company.

Let’s talk Dancing with the Stars. Is there a moment that still stays with you?

Oh, so many. That show is terrifying. Physically brutal. Emotional. You want to quit every week. I remember thinking: who do I think I am. But fear is where you meet yourself.

Those extraordinary moments during my time on Dancing with the Stars were truly pivotal and life-changing, and I’m immensely grateful for my seven years of hosting. The mirrorball trophy represents a win on so many levels far beyond the ballroom.

You have said you keep choosing scary things. Why?

Because uncertainty creates growth. Everything beautiful is born from uncertainty. Love. Intimacy. Comedy. Reinvention. Women going through divorce or empty nesting ask: what now. I ask, what is in that uncertainty that is waiting to show you who you are.

Women often feel late to wellness. What do you say to the woman who feels intimidated?

I tell her, do not believe me. Live it. Come do the breath-work. Come feel your body get strong. Come stand on the ropes course crying and shaking and then walk across anyway. You learn things about yourself up there that you cannot unlearn. It is transformation.

And you have a book in the works?

I want to write about all the things I was not ready to write until now. Blended families, divorce, falling in love again, aging with strength. Not from a place of wisdom, but experience. Because I have become someone new, and she deserves to speak.

I like to write about freedom; freedom to change, freedom to let go, and freedom to evolve. What I’ve learned through the peaks and valleys is to carve out a free, protected space that I hold just for myself.

Why say yes to a Scottsdale cover now?

Because Arizona is home. My family is here. My roots. My memories. My cowgirl boots. To return to the desert in this way feels full circle. It is not just an honor; it is personal.
