Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry is among the nation’s elite and pioneering practices for cosmetic dentistry. Their award-winning team specializes in conservative, minimally invasive dentistry and custom smile design that can be found on some of the most famous smiles in the world. Founded in 1996 by Dr. Dennis Wells, a pioneer in the field of cosmetic dentistry and innovator behind DURAthin and Micro-thin prepless veneers, Dr. Wells has dedicated his career to setting the standard for Smile design.

Continue reading to learn more about the incredible team of dentists at Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry, each personally selected and mentored by Dr. Wells himself.

Dr. Jake Bateman

Dr. Bateman is a third-generation dentist with a passion for excellence. Achieving fellowship status in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry, the cosmetic, restorative, and reconstructive dentist has served as president of the First District Tennessee Dental Association and is currently a candidate for Accreditation in the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry – a title held by only 260 dentists worldwide!

“Believing in and providing the best responsible aesthetics available is what led me to Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry,” Dr. Bateman shares. “Building confidence and self-worth drives us to be our best every day… It is incredibly rewarding.”

While attending Ohio State University, Dr. Bateman became a two-time all-American, two-time team captain, and Big Ten Freshman of the Year athlete. He met his wife, Laurel, in dental school, and they live in Brentwood, where they are raising their three daughters.

Dr. Alyssa Lambert

Dr. Lambert didn’t always know she wanted to be a dentist; after working hard to put herself through college, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Memphis and volunteered in her community through the Christian Mobile Dental Clinic – a place she credits with sparking her passion for dentistry.

“When I realized how dentistry could change people’s lives for the better, I saw a pathway to change the direction of my life and give to others,” she shares. “That’s when I fell in love with dentistry and developed my passion for it.”

Dr. Lambert received her dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis and has earned international recognition for excellence in dental research and clinical application. She explains that helping people feel confident with their smile is what she loves most about her career. While she shares that she can easily “nerd out on millimeters and shades of color that many would never think of,” the highlight of her day is being around the Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry team and clients!

Dr. Gray King

Dentistry has always played a big role in Dr. King’s life; born and raised in Atlanta, he is a second-generation cosmetic dentist and saw firsthand what it was like to pursue a career that not only transforms people’s confidence but their lives. Dr. King received his undergrad from Auburn University and then attended The Dental College of Georgia.

Beyond dentistry, Dr. King shares that his greatest joy comes from his family. He and his wife, Kimberly, have two children and share that it is an honor to be part of the Brentwood community.

“It’s incredibly fulfilling to serve people in this community and help them feel confident and proud of their smiles… it’s about more than aesthetics; it’s about helping people feel their best and empowering them to share that confidence with others. I’m grateful to contribute to a community that values connection, warmth, and excellence,” he shares.

Dr. Daniel Weese

Specializing in Prosthodontics, Dr. Weese has always had a passion for dentistry. From a young age, he found that three of his greatest joys were science, creativity, and helping people. After earning his Biology degree at Samford University, he pursued an intense three-year residency in Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama Birmingham.

“I wanted to be the dentist other dentists call when they’re stuck… the kind who remembers that obscure technique from the 1960s that could save the day,” Dr. Weese shares. “I just couldn’t leave school knowing there was a whole other level of expertise out there, so I dove in for three more years, got a little too obsessed with the details, and now here I am - making teeth look great and function even better, one over-caffeinated day at a time.”

With over twelve years at Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Weese’s advanced training to understand principles like biomechanics, aesthetics, and science allows him to approach complex cases with creativity and precision.

“There’s nothing quite like seeing someone’s face light up when they see their new smile – or the relief they feel when we fix something other providers overlooked or didn’t know how to handle,” Dr. Weese explains. “At the end of the day, I’m just lucky to do what I love. Dentistry isn’t just my career – it’s what I’m made for. If I can make someone’s life a little better, one smile or tooth at a time, that’s a win in my book.”
