Spiritual Retreats

Refreshing the Heart, Mind, and Spirit

There is a beautiful space deep in downtown Boerne that offers what you might be seeking for a spiritual retreat or just a few moments of silence within a busy day. When one sets foot inside the Benedictine Sisters’ grounds, there is a welcoming presence and a deep sense of peace. The Sisters’ ministries on “The Hill” are open to all, providing opportunities for nurturing healthy hearts, minds, and spirits. Benedictine core values including balance, care of the Earth, community, hospitality, listening, peace, and prayer are interwoven into the Sisters’ ministries. The main entrance is on Highland Drive.

Omega Retreat Center

Established in 1982, the Omega Retreat Center provides quiet spaces away from the distractions of daily life and offers a serene environment in which guests and retreatants can see and act on the movement of the Spirit.  The Center’s mission is to provide opportunities for people from all walks of life to experience Benedictine spirituality and hospitality. Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Omega is a place where guests are graciously welcomed by a trusted and caring staff. Groups and individuals use the Center each year for hosted spiritual experiences including ACTS retreats, Emmaus Walks, and private retreats. In addition to overnight retreats, the Center is also used for day retreats and workshops related to prayer, healing and wholeness, and Benedictine spirituality. Bethany, a quaint space for individual, private day retreats and reflection opened in 2021. Health and Wholeness Center

The Health and Wholeness Center, a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of Boerne, opened in 1990. It serves as an ecumenical “home away from home” for individuals ages 50 and older. Its overall purpose is to address the needs of the whole person by providing programs designed to enhance the wellness of body, mind, and spirit. The success of the Health and Wholeness Center is due in part to its philosophy of volunteerism which embraces the theme of “Seniors Serving Seniors”. Nearly 30 members volunteer throughout the year at the Health and Wholeness Center in various capacities including program leadership, and grounds beautification. The Center offers activities Monday thru Friday including water exercise classes and lap swimming in an enclosed, Jr. Olympic size pool with regulated temperatures. Regularly scheduled art and fitness classes are also offered as well as opportunities to socialize. Cost: One-time registration fee; Monthly fee for pool use. We invite you to call the Center to schedule a visit or tour and see for yourself how the Health and Wholeness Center can benefit your quality of life - 830-816-8470, or visit boernebenedictines.org/health-wholeness-center
