Tina D’Agostino is the owner of Blooms Flower Truck and Studio. Flowers have always been her passion. After spending almost 20 years working in arts and entertainment, she created Blooms as a way to bring her love of flowers and events together. The pandemic has changed the way many of us shop and socialize and Tina is so excited to offer a mobile business that brings beauty and happiness to the community. She offers floral design for small and large events, pop ups, and special events. The Studio is now open on Fridays for limited hours and a schedule of floral workshops will be released soon.

How to create a centerpiece

Consider the placement of the centerpiece, the size of your table and the personality of the occasion. Should it be low to ease conversation? Or larger to make a big impact?

Find the flowers! Choose what you love. Just be sure you have greens, filler and focal blooms – both linear and face flowers are good to include. Be sure to use a sharp pair of snips or garden shears and cut the stems at a 45 degree angle.

Select a vase that works with the amount of flowers. If the vase is too wide, structure becomes a challenge. Arrange the greens. Consider height and shape and use the stems to create a foundation. Once you have the shape, fill in with flowers. Start with the linear blooms and use the face flowers for impact. Finally, use filler to refine the shape or add more volume.
