Thirty-eight local organizations will share $150,000 in City of Boise Arts & History grants for fiscal year 2027, funding cultural projects running October 2026 through September 2027.
The grants support everything from Ballet Idaho bringing free dance education into Title I schools to the Idaho Office for Refugees producing a podcast series celebrating immigrant and refugee voices. LED will expand arts education into Boise public junior highs and high schools. Opera Idaho brings free opera to a local park. The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights expands free workshops connecting young people to human rights issues through creative expression.
Nine organizations are receiving City arts funding for the first time, including Lenses & Brushes, whose year-long community photography project invites Boise residents to document the city through shared images, and Pink Pony Project, creating free illustrated postcard maps celebrating Boise's horse-era heritage.
Awards range from $1,500 to $5,000, reviewed by a community panel and selected based on community benefit, accessibility, and alignment with the city's cultural mission.
"Together these funded projects and events contribute to creating opportunity and a city for everyone," the Department of Arts & History said.
