Blush Boutique Co. has had a major impact on the women of Greeley. Empowering and helping other woman through this company has built upon the community’s strength and connections. We asked shop owner, Emilie Casseday, to help us find some of the most supportive women in Greeley to feature. These four ladies have been on the frontlines of the business world, taking it by storm, with a little help from their friends. We asked them what life is like as a businesswoman, and they had some great things to say about their town and the women who live here.
Emilie Casseday
My name is Emilie Casseday, I am a Greeley transplant from a little mountain town, Evergreen. My family and I love to travel, go on adventures, and just spend time together. When I am not with my family, I am at Blush living my dream, working and designing.
I can't say enough about my village which is exactly how it sounds. The women (and men too) that shop here have been incredibly supportive. This shop has brought me some amazing friends and I have been able to share in their lives too which has been such a blessing. I have always said Blush is more than just a store, it's a community.
One of the things that is important to me is supporting incredible artists, especially locally. We have several artists that have their creations in Blush, so we are able to support other Women owned small businesses through our shop. We also love to hold events and special nights that help women come together, whether for fun or to learn something amazing. Each month, Blush also takes a portion of our earnings and puts it back into the community through different foundations, some of these have been LoveMadeClaim, A Women's Place, The Other Side Academy, and The Resource Center.
“I have been given this gift of fostering a beautiful space to love.”
Rebecca Dollard
I am a mentor and life coach. I help women holistically care for themselves, along with providing a safe space to be supported through the highs and lows of life. I empower women to show up as their best selves without ignoring their own needs. I teach tools that build the skills that create health for them, which creates health in their family.
The cornerstone of my business as a life coach is supporting women. Women are taking care of all the things and people, but THIS is a place to have their needs met and honored. It is easy for women to ignore their needs and having intentional support for them will change everything in their life.
Launching my business this past year changed everything I thought I knew about women and especially women in business. I’ve learned that when I ask for help and support, I get surrounded by women willing to remind me who I am and celebrate and support not just me, but my business through all the highs and lows.
“The women in Greeley made me realize what I was capable of .”
Anna Green
I’m a Northern Colorado native, having grown up in Longmont and Lyons. It has been such a joy to watch Greeley grow over the more than 25 years I’ve lived here! I love to see live music and theater, take our dog Luna on long walks, listen to podcasts and relish a good belly laugh with family and friends. Having areas like downtown where you can shop for gifts and clothing, then meet up with friends for dinner and drinks, followed by live music is one of my favorite things about the town.
The women in Greeley are incredibly supportive of those who create their own businesses. As the manager at Blush Boutique, I regularly hear how much they love the store, how they feel so welcome and comfortable there, and it has become one of their go-to places to shop! I have been honored to support women in their personal growth through my involvement with conference and special event production.
Women in my community have been instrumental in helping me foster my ideas and bring them to fruition. There are so many opportunities for networking, brainstorming, masterminds, and referrals within Greeley from the amazing women who live and work here!
“Women have helped me foster my ideas and bring them to fruition.”
Betzy Sanchez Valdez
My name is Betzy Valdez, originally from Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. I have called Greeley, Colorado home for the past 24 years. I am the founder/creator of Empowered Leader. I offer workshops, personal development tools, and volunteer opportunities. My goal is to inspire leaders to be better, do better, and give better. My ultimate goal: To create leaders who lead with heart and passion! My personal experience as a “Dreamer” (DACA recipient) has inspired me to give back and be of service to others. I am also the new president of the Hispanic Women of Weld County, a nonprofit organization that engages civically, awards academic scholarships, and recognizes the accomplishments of Latinas across Weld County. We believe in educating and empowering our community.
Being an Empowered Leader is a way of life, a mindset. I believe that through the various opportunities for growth, connection, and community involvement that I offer, it will inspire and empower others to serve, transform, and lead in their own lives.
What can I say about the women in my life? There have been many who have made an impact in my life. The support, encouragement, and love are something I appreciate and hold with me always. I am inspired by the strong, bold, kind-hearted women who lead with passion to serve our communities. I am reminded that we are not meant to do life alone but rather, with people who will be by our side to support, encourage, and uplift us along the way.
“I interact with many diverse groups and I have witnessed how we can all support one another.”
