Ending Homelessness for Single Mothers and their Children

Bridge of Hope Denver, a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness for single mothers and their children in Colorado, is gearing up for their 10th annual Golf Classic fundraiser at the picturesque Arrowhead Golf Course on August 1, 2024. This event serves as one of their primary fundraisers, with all proceeds directed towards their vital programs and services.

In a city where the rising cost of living has forced many families onto the streets, Bridge of Hope Denver stands as a beacon of hope. Over the past decade, they have provided stable and safe housing, rental assistance, comprehensive supportive services, and emotional support to single mothers and their children facing homelessness. Their commitment to a housing-first model and a family-centered approach has resulted in remarkable success, with over 85% of families graduating from their program achieving self-sufficiency.

The need for their services has never been greater, with a 304% increase in requests for help from single mothers and their children over the past three years. Colorado has seen a staggering 69% increase in family homelessness, with over 80% of homeless families headed by women. These families are often the "unseen" homeless, living in cars, shelters, motels, or doubled-up with friends or family.

Bridge of Hope Denver's programs not only provide immediate relief but also focus on long-term solutions. Through a combination of stabilized housing, professional support, and a network of volunteers, they empower families to transition from surviving to thriving. Their emphasis on partnerships and collaboration ensures that families receive the resources and support they need even after graduating from the program.

Each family supported by Bridge of Hope Denver costs an estimated $17,000-25,000 per year, depending on their needs and financial capability. This investment pays off immensely, as families graduate with increased income, decreased debt, and the ability to cover their own living expenses.

The Golf Classic fundraiser is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of these families in need. By participating in or sponsoring this event, individuals and businesses can make a tangible difference in the lives of single mothers and their children, providing them with the hope and support they need to build a better future.

Bridge of Hope Denver invites all neighbors and friends to join them on August 1st for a day of golf and giving. Together, we can help end homelessness for single mothers and their children in Colorado, one swing at a time.
