Broadway in Tulsa

Season features nationally touring shows

If you love Broadway, the lineup of 2020-21 shows from Celebrity Attractions including “Mean Girls” and “The Lion King,” is for you.

The season begins with “Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville,” August 18-23. It’s a musical comedy featuring both original songs and your most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics including, “Fins,” “Volcano,” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Entertainment Weekly says, "It will knock your flip-flops off!"

“Mean Girls” runs September 15-20 and is the hilarious hit musical created from Tina Fey’s book of the same name. In the story, Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the vicious ways of her strange new home in Illinois. Soon, this naïve newbie falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George.

Disney’s “The Lion King” returns November 11-29. In it, giraffes strut, bird swoop, gazelles leap and the Serengeti comes to life as never before. More than 100 million people around the world have experienced the awe-inspiring visual artistry, the unforgettable music, and the uniquely theatrical storytelling of this Broadway spectacular.

February 9-14, “Tootsie” hits the stage. Based on the Oscar-nominated film featuring the Tony Award-winning book by Robert Horn and an outrageously clever score by 2018 Tony Award winner David Yazbek, the New York Post says the show is, “even funnier than the movie!”

One of Hollywood’s most beloved stories of all time, “Pretty Woman: The Musical” will be here April 13-18. Featured in the musical is the smash hit song “Oh, Pretty Woman,” which inspired one of the most beloved romantic comedy films of all time.

Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best Musical, “Hadestown” runs June 15-20 and intertwines two mythic tales of young dreamers on a journey to the underworld and back. The beguiling melodies and poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith and fear against love.

“How is it that the coolest new show on Broadway is a 1943 musical?” says The New York Times. “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” is here January 5-10 and is the Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical.

Tickets for the 2020-21 Celebrity Attraction Broadway season can be booked directly or through the Tulsa Performing Arts Center - CelebrityAttractions.com or TulsaPAC.com.
