Since opening last summer, Brookhaven City Centre has become central to community life — a civic hub and gathering place at 4001 Peachtree Road NE, steps from the Brookhaven/Oglethorpe MARTA station. Designed to serve multiple purposes throughout the day, the building supports city operations while also welcoming residents, meetings and events.

That vision came to life during last summer’s grand opening, when residents filled the space for tours, tastings and family activities. Since then, the momentum hasn’t slowed. City Centre now hosts signature events like Taste Brookhaven, alongside weddings, corporate meetings and holiday celebrations, while remaining a true civic space with free programming like Movies Under the Stars, Photos with Santa and the city's Black History Month Celebration.

The building itself is a standout: Georgia's first municipal structure built primarily from mass timber, with warm wood interiors, expansive glass and natural light throughout. Of its 58,250 square feet, roughly 60% is dedicated to community use, including flexible meeting rooms, an event hall, a catering kitchen and outdoor green space. The Atrium leads to adaptable rooms that transition easily from board meetings to seated dinners, while rotating art installations are displayed on the second floor.

The quieter details are worth seeking out. Summit Coffee gives the building an everyday rhythm, good for a slow morning or a casual work session. Outside, stone frieze panels framed in steel illustrate the life cycle of a peach tree, with tones that shift subtly as the light changes. The rooftop terrace beneath the Cherry Blossom Dome looks out to Stone Mountain and Kennesaw on a clear day, offering a quiet vantage point above the city.

Spring is when Brookhaven feels especially easy to explore. Saturday mornings start at the Brookhaven Farmers Market, a longtime favorite for fresh produce, baked goods and local makers. It’s also the ideal season to enjoy the city’s natural landscape: a 44% tree canopy, 19 parks and the evolving Peachtree Creek Greenway.

Looking ahead to summer, Atlanta will host 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in June and July, bringing visitors from around the world. Located along the MARTA Gold Line, Brookhaven offers an easy home base for fans — close to downtown matches, but with a neighborhood pace. From globally inspired dining along Buford Highway to patio-lined restaurants in Dresden and gatherings at Brookhaven City Centre, it’s a chance for Brookhaven to welcome the world while still feeling unmistakably local. See you around!
