Over 500 miles from Nashville sits the quant village of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. A suburb located 24 miles straight west of downtown Chicago, it’s a great place to raise a family right in America’s Heartland. But when someone living there had already made a significant impact in Nashville with her soulful voice and musical talents, what does her family - who has supported her career from day one – decide to do? They move to Nashville, of course.
That “someone” is 18-year-old independent music artist Brye Sebring, whose parents, Jenny and Bryan, made the decision in March 2020 to move their family – Brye, Brayden, Bryce, and Brock, from Glen Ellyn to Nashville. Says Brye, “My family has been insanely supportive of my music! Before I had any team members, my parents were my team. They were with me during every label interview, helped me buy equipment, and came to every performance.”
On an interesting side note, her father Bryan has kept his successful Naperville, Illinois-based home building and remodeling business, Sebring Design Build, going strong while also growing a solid business presence in Tennessee.
Brye currently has seven songs on streaming platforms, and will be releasing an EP (extended play) with six new songs. “LEMONS” has racked up over 35 million streams on Spotify alone, and “Apocalypse” hit a half-million streams a few months ago and is still going strong. Notes Brye, “I’m signed to a distribution company, Imperial, under Republic Records, and they do an incredible job of getting my music out.”
She adds, “We have a good family friend who knows the industry really well. He set up a phone conversation with Janet Weir of 42 Entertainment/Red Light Management in Nashville, who also manages Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd. They weren’t looking to work with any other artists, but after meeting me and my parents they decided they would take me on.”
“My entire team is based in Nashville, and in the short time I’ve lived here, I’ve met so many writers and producers who I just adore,” says Brye. “I never would have found those connections in an Illinois suburb. Thanks to Nashville, I have learned so much about the industry, production, and my own music.”
