For Lee and Angela Goldstein, Northgate Realty is not where their real estate story began. It’s the result of everything that came before it.
Lee grew up locally in Prince George’s County before eventually settling in Montgomery County, where he has lived and worked for decades. Angela’s path started much farther away. She was born in Cali, Colombia, and moved to Montgomery County at a young age, growing up in the same communities they now serve.
Real estate became a part of both of their lives early on. Over the years, they built their careers within large national firms, gaining experience, navigating changing markets, and helping clients throughout the DMV through one of the most important decisions they would ever make.
That time in the business gave them perspective.
They saw what worked, what didn’t, and where the industry often fell short. There was no lack of effort or professionalism—but too often, the process felt standardized, built for efficiency rather than for the people going through it.
At the same time, their personal lives were evolving.
They found each other later in life, each with established careers and families, and began building a life together by blending those families into one. It was a meaningful and, at times, complex transition—one that required intention, patience, and the right environment to make it all work.
That environment started with home.
Not just finding a place to live, but creating a space where everyone could come together and feel settled. Where routines could form, relationships could grow, and a new chapter could take shape.
Today, that foundation is reflected in their life in the Rollingwood neighborhood of Chevy Chase. Their children grew up in Montgomery County and attended local public schools, and their paths today are a point of pride. Jared, Lee’s son, is now a teacher in the MCPS system after graduating from B-CC. Angela’s daughters, Sofia and Valentina, graduated from Churchill and are now thriving in college at Boston College and The Ohio State University. Oliver, the youngest, is currently in the MCPS system, bringing a strong sense of curiosity, energy, and personality that defines any active household. Their home is also shared with four dogs, adding to the constant motion and character of their everyday life.
It’s a full house. And it’s exactly what shaped how they see their work.
Through that experience, they came to understand something more clearly: real estate decisions are rarely just about property. They are tied to timing, to change, to opportunity, and often to uncertainty. They carry weight because they affect how people live day to day—and what comes next.
That realization is what led to the creation of Northgate Realty.
Northgate wasn’t built to follow a model. It was built to reflect a different way of working—one that prioritizes understanding, communication, and long-term relationships over volume.
“We had already spent years in the business,” Lee says. “Starting Northgate wasn’t about doing more of the same. It was about doing it in a way that felt more aligned with how we actually believe that buying or selling a home should work.”
That belief shows up in the way they approach every client.
The focus is not just on the outcome, but on the process—making sure people feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions they’re making. Some clients come to them through long-standing relationships. Others meet them for the first time during a major life transition. In many cases, those relationships continue well beyond a single transaction.
That continuity is intentional.
Angela brings that same sense of responsibility into her work in the community, supporting local schools and families throughout Montgomery County. It’s a reflection of the same values that guide their business—show up, stay involved, and contribute in ways that matter.
Over time, Northgate Realty has grown, but always with that foundation in place.
The goal has never been to build the largest company. It’s been to build one that people trust—an independent brokerage grounded in experience, shaped by real life, and focused on helping clients move forward with clarity and purpose.
Because for Lee and Angela, this work has never been just about buying or selling homes.
It’s about helping people take the next step in their lives—and making sure they have the right place to do it.
It’s a full house. And it’s exactly what shaped how they see their work.
