Hill Country Toastmasters celebrated its eleventh year in January 2020 and contribute to the community in many ways. President Jackie Liberto offers, “Toastmasters is the best kept secret in the Hill Country.” A Toastmaster club teaches it members time management, personal development, confidence and speaking skills that can be used in every area of life. It builds leadership skills within the community and families which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth. Toastmasters don’t learn by book but by doing. Public speaking is a big fear of a lot of people. Toastmasters incorporates skill-building that helps its members achieve weekly success. From a very short "speech" like telling a joke to mastering a full-length talk increases confidence for speaking in public.
Leadership Boerne, with Robb Weller and Cali Redd leading this year's class, is a community leadership program aimed at increasing the leadership pool for the present and future of the Boerne area. The Leadership Boerne Program requires a two-year commitment designed to provide information about the community and build leadership skills, allowing participants to make significant contributions to the community. During the first year, participants are exposed to critical issues facing Boerne, surrounding communities and the state. During the second year, they are the facilitators of the sessions for the next year's class of students. The program consists of one-day sessions September through May and culminates with graduation. Applications deadline is May 31, 2020. Visit www.boerne.org to apply.
The Hill Country Women’s Group is the ultimate networking and social group for women of all ages in the Hill Country and San Antonio areas. The group meets monthly to connect members with other wonderful and inspiring women in the community, support local businesses, foster true friendship, and have a great time doing it. Monthly activities rotate to include coffee dates, brunch dates, book nights, ladies' night outs, maker nights, small business showcases/pop-ups, and more.
