Most children don't argue over who gets to see the doctor first.

At Weld Family Chiropractic, it's not uncommon for siblings to race toward the adjustment table, each insisting it should be their turn.

For Drs. Patricia and Erik Sorbo, those moments never get old.

Over more than two decades in practice, the husband-and-wife team has built something that extends far beyond chiropractic care. They've cared for newborns who are now college students. They've watched young athletes grow into adults and start families of their own. They've celebrated milestones alongside patients and earned a level of trust that now spans multiple generations.

Today, several families in the practice include grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren.

"It's hands down getting to take care of multiple generations of families," says Dr. Patricia. "We have several families that span four generations and numerous three-generation families."

That sense of connection has become the foundation of Weld Family Chiropractic.

When the Sorbos opened their practice, they envisioned a place where patients felt welcome, valued, and cared for as individuals. They wanted families to feel comfortable walking through the door, whether they were bringing in a newborn, a high school athlete, or a grandparent hoping to stay active.

More than anything, they wanted to help people fully participate in life.

For Dr. Patricia, that mission is deeply personal.

As a high school runner, she suffered an injury that left her searching for answers. After being told she might never run again, chiropractic care helped her return to the sport she loved. Years later, she still sees echoes of that experience in the parents who walk through her door looking for help for their children.

Many arrive after exhausting other options. Some have never experienced chiropractic care themselves. Others simply trust a recommendation from a friend and hope they might find answers.

"It's the parents who trust me with their children that impact me the most," she says.

That trust often begins earlier than many people realize.

While many people associate chiropractic care with back pain, the Sorbos regularly work with expecting mothers, infants, children, teenagers, and active families. Dr. Patricia has completed extensive training in prenatal, postpartum, infant, and pediatric care, helping families navigate everything from pregnancy through childhood.

For many parents, learning how early care can begin is often a surprise.

The same is true for young athletes.

Today's kids are growing up in a different world than previous generations. Between school, activities, travel teams, practices, screens, and packed schedules, many families are moving faster than ever before.

The Sorbos see the effects every day.

Poor posture. Sleep challenges. Stress. Overuse injuries. Exhausted parents trying to keep up with equally exhausted kids.

Youth sports have become especially demanding.

With year-round competition becoming the norm, many athletes move from one season directly into the next with little opportunity to rest, recover, or simply enjoy being kids.

"We're seeing more overuse injuries related to sport specificity," Dr. Erik explains. "There's really no offseason for many young athletes anymore."

Helping those athletes stay healthy is rewarding, but the greatest reward often comes later.

A golfer shoots the best round of the season. A patient returns to an activity they thought they'd never enjoy again. A grandparent keeps up with grandchildren. A family spends more time hiking, biking, playing, and living life together.

Those moments are what continue to drive the work being done at Weld Family Chiropractic.

For the Sorbos, family care isn't simply about treating different age groups. It's about helping families make the most of the years that matter most.

And sometimes, it's as simple as watching a child excitedly jump onto the adjustment table, eager for their turn.

For Drs. Patricia and Erik Sorbo, that's a pretty good reminder that they're exactly where they're supposed to be.
