Built Through Community Frederick County Chamber of Commerce · Frederick, MD

Celebrating the Commitment Strengthening Frederick for Generations

For half a century or more, a remarkable group of Frederick County businesses and organizations has chosen to invest not only in the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, but also in the community that has supported them for generations..

This year, 17 current Chamber members are being recognized as Legacy Members for 50 or more years of Chamber membership. Fifteen joined in 1976, while Offutt, Horman, Burdette & May P.A. has been a member since 1960 and Rice Tire since 1956. Together, they represent decades of change in Frederick County, from new generations of leadership and evolving industries to tremendous growth across the region.

What has endured is their commitment to being part of something larger than their individual  organizations.

At its core, Chamber membership is an investment in community. It connects businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, and community leaders who may serve different audiences or work in different industries, but all share a stake in Frederick County's success. Our Legacy Members have made that investment year after year, helping foster  the relationships and sense of shared responsibility that make a strong business community possible.

Their longevity also reminds us that community is built over time. It is built through businesses that  serve generations of local customers, institutions that educate and care for generations of residents, employers that create opportunities for local families, and organizations that  step up when Frederick needs them.

"For over a century, Frederick Health and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce have partnered to invest in our community's future. Those years represent a longstanding commitment to strengthening our relationship with those we serve, empowering leaders, and leveraging local resources to enhance our approach to care. Throughout our county's rich history, the people of Frederick County have given Frederick Health every reason to keep showing up for this community, and we are proud to continue the tradition of investing in partnerships that help us build a healthier future."
- President & Chief Executive Officer of Frederick Health Dr. Cheryl Cioffi

The Chamber has changed during the past 50 years, just like Frederick County. The ways we connect have evolved, the needs of our members have changed, and new industries and leaders have emerged. Yet the value of relationships remains constant. Progress depends on people and organizations willing to work together and stay engaged in the community they call home.

That is why this milestone feels especially meaningful in an edition centered on thanks. We are grateful for the businesses and organizations that have trusted the Chamber across decades. We are grateful for the past and present leaders who made that commitment possible. And we are grateful that so many of these members continue to contribute their time, expertise, resources, and voices to Frederick County today.

“Being a Chamber Member for 50 years is both an honor and a reflection of our deep roots in Frederick County and our longstanding commitment to helping it grow and thrive. Throughout the decades, we have built meaningful relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders who share a dedication to making Frederick County a great place to live, work, and serve. The Chamber has played an important role in fostering those connections, creating opportunities for collaboration, and strengthening the local business environment. Frederick continues to be a place worth investing in because of its people and their unwavering commitment to supporting one another and moving the community forward for future generations.”

Fifty years is more than a membership milestone. It is a record of showing up. To our Legacy Members, thank you for growing with us, serving alongside us and helping build the community we are proud to call home.

For five decades and beyond, these members have helped strengthen the network of businesses, institutions and organizations that make Frederick County a place where people and ideas can thrive. Their continued involvement is a reminder that strong communities are built through long-term relationships, shared investment and a willingness to keep showing up for one another.
