When Michael Harwell visited his mother in her new hometown of Roswell in 2005, he quickly learned what we all know and love. “What I love most about Roswell is the strong sense of community that you don’t find in a lot of places. It almost has a small-town feel to it, and I am excited to become part of that,” says Michael who opened the doors to FixIt Ace Hardware in April. The store will span 10,600 square feet and stock over 16,500 products. FixIt Ace Hardware was formed in 2016 and also has locations in the Peachtree Battle and Chastain. “We think Roswell shoppers will be excited that we can provide them with a convenient and friendly place to shop for their hardware, lawn and garden, paint, and outdoor living products,” says Michael. “We have assembled an amazing team of knowledgeable and experienced associates that we know will provide our customers with the advice and products they need to complete any home project.” The store promises "a more personal kind of helpful” and the best brands like Big Green Egg, Traeger, Weber, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Craftsman, Benjamin Moore, and Scotts. “Our associates are trained to help customers with their entire project, not just one product, to avoid you having to make a return trip for something you may have forgotten. We also love to meet our new neighbors so we can treat you like a neighbor instead of just another customer.” You’ll see Michael on the sales floor as often as he can, introducing himself and getting to know neighbors and customers.
Alongside him are VP of Operations Lynnette Johson, VP of Marketing and Merchandising Kaitlin Waters, and GM Nathan Benton. “Simply put, our team is awesome! I’m so excited to have such a wonderful staff right out of the gate. Most of them all live very close to the downtown Roswell area and many of them have been in Roswell for generations,” says Michael. The team is on top of the trends, constantly evaluating the product mix to give customers what they want.
“One beautiful advantage of the Ace Hardware model is that we can carry nearly anything our customers ask for. In just our first week in business, we added a new item that a business near us said they will need to buy regularly,” explains Michael.
