Per dictionary.com, the word “doctor” has many definitions. One is “an eminent scholar and teacher.”

Most people consult a doctor to either treat a diagnosis with medication(s) or perform a surgical procedure intended to ease pain or fix a condition. This is what we call healthcare.

Doctors say if our body is absent of any ailment or symptom, then we are considered healthy. But so often we hear, “Mr. Smith was healthy before he had his heart attack,” or “Mrs. Jones was just diagnosed with cancer, and she is the healthiest person I know.”

Being in good health is not about treating an isolated ailment or fixing a certain condition. It’s about creating an environment that allows your body to thrive and be 100% functional.

I am in awe that our body was created with a God-given intelligence. This divine wisdom knows all that we need to experience life. Our neurologic system controls every life-sustaining function; Our central nervous system gives life to every cell, tissue, and organ.

But, here’s the thing: If our body was created to take care of itself, why isn’t it? Why, or how, do we develop health conditions?

Each nerve in the entire body meets at the base of the skull. A small vertebra protects this vital junction of the nervous system “superhighway” in your spine. That vertebra is called the “Atlas,” or cervical vertebra — C1. If your Atlas shifts out of the proper position and cannot properly support your head, nerve signals traveling from the brain to the body become distorted.

At Getting Weller, we utilize 3D spinal CT imaging and infrared technology to ensure that your spine is both neurologically and structurally sound. If your spine is neurologically compromised, abnormal nerve signals can diminish the body’s natural ability to maintain itself. In time, the body will grow to develop a health condition, unresolved issue, sickness, pain, or disease.

As doctors, we aim to educate those who have lost hope when it comes to their health. We have seen the results that come once your head is on straight (literally). Our patients talk about their improved health from the perspective of being a better spouse, co-worker, student, athlete… a better human being. We call it Getting Weller.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind & Healthy Relationships all depend on a properly functioning nerve system.
