The Carillon Tower is the centerpiece of Stanley Park and a well-known landmark in our city. It was
envisioned by Stanley Park’s founder, Frank Stanley Beveridge, and dedicated in June, 1950. This
iconic structure has been standing tall in the Rose Garden for over 70 years, but the years have taken
its toll on the structure and much needed restoration is being planned.
Each Fall Stanley Park hosts an annual fundraiser. This year’s event needed to be a little different
and the planning Committee decided on an online auction. Starting September 12 th , Stanley Park’s
Online Auction will be “live” and will feature high-quality artwork by local artists, a hand-crafted
bird house, Westfield Seek-No-Further apple trees, gift certificates to local business, and a few
surprises. The auction will run through September 18 th , with item pickup at the Park within a few
days of the auction. All auction proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Carillon Tower, which is a
large undertaking. The planning committee is excited about this year’s auction. We expect to reach a
larger audience, and donors and sponsors will have the opportunity for a wider advertisement of their
business.
As a private non-profit organization that does not receive any city or state funding, Stanley Park
relies on the generosity of donors to support the Park’s upkeep and improvements. The community is
invited to participate in the online auction or can donate directly to the Carillon Tower restoration.
