Celebrating 20 Years Of New Urbanism

New Town At St. Charles Provides Beloved Lifestyle Community

Imagine a picturesque community conceived during 2003 to provide its residents with all of life's day-to-day amenities within walkable or biking distance, or perhaps even golf carts. Now imagine a unique, mixed-use neighborhood currently serving as home to a coffee shop, food market, a bakery café, shacks for pizza, ice cream, sno-cones and snacks, a New York style restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, an animal clinic, an animal spa, wine bar, brewtique, a dance studio, three churches, a fitness/wellness center and event spaces.

This visionary destination is the real-life, close-knit neighborhood called New Town At St. Charles!

NT also has three lakes stocked for fishing and available for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Civic Green Park is one of three parks that offer a pathway for an enjoyable stroll, benches located throughout to curl up and read, or just let kids run and play on the playground. There are two swimming pools, as well. The amphitheater is wonderful for family movie nights, events and concerts that take place throughout the year. Town Hall is a beautiful place for special showers or receptions.

Kudos to founding NT board members: Greg Whittaker, David Price, Tim Busse, Danna Gilbert and Perry Whittaker. Community Association and Property Management services presently are provided to The New Town at St. Charles General Assembly by DNI Properties, Inc.

Examples of special events now hosted at New Town include a free concert "Pink Houses: Tribute to John Cougar Mellencamp" on Sept. 1; Chalk the Walk artists design along the Canal on Sept. 14; and a Corn Hole Tournament Sept. 28.

JOIN THE MILESTONE CELEBRATION: NT's 20th anniversary party is scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Amphitheater. It will reflect the ambiance of an old time festival between 5-7 p.m., featuring games, cake walk and other fun activities, followed by ultimate rock 'n rollers Trixie Delight for a free musical concert from 7-10 p.m.
