Celebrating Local Men of Impact

Hendersonville Chamber Fetes Community Champions

The 2nd annual Men Impacting the Community Awards celebration was held at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club on Friday, Mar. 24. Sponsored by the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, the event honored local men who have made a difference in the community.

Over 200 guests attended the event, which celebrated male business and non-profit professionals and their accomplishments in Hendersonville. Over thirty men were nominated by their peers, and eight were selected as 2023 award winners.

The event began with a welcome from Hendersonville Mayor Jamie Clary. Following the Mayor’s remarks, WZTV Fox 17 News Anchor Scott Couch took over the program as event emcee. Along with the awards, the ceremony also featured presentations from Dewayne Scott, Brian Manning and John Belman.

The event highlight was the presentation of awards to eight men chosen from over thirty nominees. The impact award winners included Larry Atwell – American Legion Post 290 (Military), Dr. Duane Harrison – TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center (Healthcare), Tim Koly – Ellis Middle School (Education), Joshua Jones – HYPE (Nonprofit), Darren Rager – Knox Doss Middle School (First Responder), Dennis Tulpa – Studio Bank (Young Professional), Taylor Milliken – Milosi Landscaping (Business) and Jimmy Johnston – Forward Sumner (Legacy).

After the awards, Grammy winning singer Billy Gaines closed out the event with an inspirational musical performance.
