Celebrating the Everyday

After making the switch to a slower paced rural lifestyle, Kelcie Anton now helps her clients do the same.

Who: Kelcie Anton

Title: Owner of HoM Realty, LLC

Where: kelcieanton.com

Advice: Whether they are looking for a second home or making a permanent move, I always encourage my clients to make a list of their goals and priorities. This may sound simple but making the move to a rural setting is vastly different from city life, so making a list clarifies things for buyers.

Two years ago, Kelcie Anton and her husband traded their traditional corporate jobs for a slower-paced lifestyle. They swapped their hour-long commute for views of rolling hills and sunsets.  This life transition occurred because Anton discovered the slow living movement. She is now not only a believer in the lifestyle, but she is an advocate, as well.

"I try to live a slower-paced life, enjoy every moment that is brought in front of me, knowing it's unique to me," says Anton. "I literally stop and smell roses now. I say yes to lunch dates instead of working through lunch from my desk. I make connections with people instead of finding a reason to "be busy".

Out of this move and building her dream home, Anton discovered her love for real estate and construction. She is now a licensed real estate agent and owner of HoM Realty LLC. She helps families find weekend homes or make a permanent move to rural areas. She works with clients to build and design their dream homes or find the perfect home. For Anton, her ideal clients want a couple of acres of land where they can spend more time outdoors and relax from the stressors of city life. She also believes that homes should be intentionally designed for bringing friends and family together.

"A home that serves the purpose of being a retreat for their family and friends to come and enjoy with them," she says. "Because at the end of the day, that's what matters the most - it's about making connections with people, spending time with family and friends, and positively impacting people."
