Elizabeth Marshman’s Cold Toddy
Makes 1 Quart
Ingredients
1 quart apple cider Fresh ginger (2-4 inches, grated)
3 oranges (juice of two and a half, the other half studded with cloves)
¼ lemon, juiced 3 cinnamon sticks (plus extra for garnish)
Nutmeg and cinnamon to taste
Zest from half an orange Instructions: Bring all ingredients to a boil, then steep for 10 minutes. Strain and chill. Add bourbon to taste. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and a clove-studded orange wedge.
