Chevrolet Corvette Leads the Field For 2023 Cars

The Redesigned 'Vette was Named one of the Top 10 cars of the year by auto enthusiasts

The 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 roared onto the stage at the New York Auto Show this spring, blowing away spectators with its powerful and sleek redesign.

While electric and hybrid vehicles, like the Kia Concept EV9 and the Toyota Rhombus, got a lot of buzz at the annual car show in Manhattan, the Corvette had seasoned car lovers waxing poetic when it came onstage.

"Chevrolet has given us our first glimpse at what a mega Vette will look like with the reveal of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06," Edmunds wrote. "Under the engine cover is an all-new, rather exotic V8 with a lofty redline. You also get a number of aero and mechanical upgrades to make the most of the prodigious horsepower on tap — especially if you opt for the Z07 track attack package. The result is an American sports car that can finally go toe to toe with automakers like Ferrari or McLaren."

"This current version of the ’Vette has a mid-engine configuration ... this arrangement gives the Corvette its final set of supercar credentials, the ability to compete with exotic machines that are twice or sometimes three times as expensive," said the Kelly Blue Book write up.

The 2023 Corvette has a 670-horsepower engine. The base price of the car is $61,000 but with a convertible version and extras the price can get pushed past $100,000.

At a charity auction in Florida recently a wealthy car dealer paid $1 million for the first retail Z06 to roll off the assembly line and spent $3.6 million for the 2023 coupe version of the car.
