World-Class Pediatric Care Children's Hospital Colorado

Children’s Hospital Colorado ranks high nationally in cancer treatment

Children’s Hospital Colorado is one of the best.  CHC continues to make the honor roll of one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country by many notable organizations, including U.S. News & World Report.  The hospital’s advanced baby care, brain and behavior department, and cancer treatment facilities set this children’s hospital apart from the rest.

“Children's Hospital Colorado sees more, treats more and heals more kids than any hospital in our seven-state region. Kids aren’t just mini adults. We know how different they are, and that changes everything about how we treat them, from their growing bodies to their developing minds. Our team is experienced and forward-thinking when it comes to the latest methods for diagnosis and treatment. This translates into less invasive treatment, less time, and less stress on families and patients. We are doing everything we can to help kids get healthy and home faster than at any other hospital,” a Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation spokesperson tells us.

CHC is a nonprofit that is supported by the generosity of donors.  The hospital employs more than 3,000 pediatric specialists and has 19 patient care facilities in Colorado including an Outpatient and Urgent Care facility in Uptown Denver.  The mission of the hospital is clear, to improve the health of children through the provision of high-quality, coordinated programs of patient care, education, research and advocacy.

“We deliver family-centered care. By making the hospital very family-friendly, we make it easier for parents and siblings to be involved in the day-to-day medical, emotional and social needs of a child. Our multidisciplinary care means that children and their families can see numerous experts at one appointment instead of scheduling several appointments. The Children’s Colorado multidisciplinary team collaborates to provide the best care possible, leading to better communication and better outcomes.”

In order to provide the best care for patients, the hospital recognizes that the atmosphere must be comfortable and welcoming for children and their families. At Children’s Hospital Colorado, you’ll see brightly painted murals adorning the walls and cute red wagons decorating the halls.  You will even find supportive prescription pets roaming the wings bringing smiles and joy to the patients and their families.  This is why more families are choosing to bring their children to CHC, and why the hospital continually ranks at the top of the charts in pediatric care.

“From private patient rooms to healing color therapy and views of nature, every detail of Children's Hospital Colorado was built to help kids get better faster and reduce stress on the whole family. Children’s Colorado is built entirely around kids. The hospital knows what kids need to play, learn and connect – even when they’re sick. That’s why the hospital offers dozens of amenities to help them do just that. Our Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy Program uses the arts to help children express, create and heal in an open and supportive environment. This is a comprehensive creative arts therapy program, with eight masters and doctoral level creative arts therapists, three dedicated studio spaces and two exhibition galleries.”

Support from donors and the community helps the hospital sustain their mission to provide top-notch care to their patients.  As the only nonprofit pediatric hospital in a region that spans seven states, Children’s Colorado provides world-class care for more than 230,000 children every year. “The hospital is there for every child and family who needs our care, thanks to support from donors. We are also grateful for the support of volunteers. The Association of Volunteers (AoV) coordinates placements, training and orientation for volunteers, and our volunteers provide a variety of services for our patients, such as holding, comforting or playing with them, offering animal-assisted therapy through our Prescription Pet Program, or greeting newly admitted patient families upon their arrival to introduce them to the hospital’s amenities.
