Local Auto Repair Company Puts The "Service" in Customer Service

In 1789, Founding Father Benjamin Franklin famously said that “in this world, nothing is certain, except death and taxes.” While this adage still rings true over 200 years later, it should probably be updated to include another modern-day scourge, vehicle repairs. Whether it’s an engine that won’t start or the sudden appearance of the dreaded “check engine” light, an unexpected car problem can quickly put a damper on the sunniest of days.

Decades ago, cars were simpler and easier to understand. There were few problems that couldn’t be handled by local garages, and quite often, by the vehicle owners themselves. However, those days are gone.

Today’s cars are much more complex, with dozens of computerized systems embedded throughout. Most people lack the knowledge, specialized tools and sophisticated test equipment needed to diagnose problems and to effect needed repairs. This situation leaves most people at the mercy of dealerships and third-party maintenance centers, who can establish their own parts and labor fee schedules, which are often exorbitant. Moreover, unscrupulous repair shops can easily take advantage of customers, by selling unneeded parts and services to unsuspecting vehicle owners.

Fortunately, the news is not all doom and gloom, particularly in Hendersonville and over 250 other locations across the United States. For us, we have Christian Brothers Automotive, a franchise company dedicated to providing trustworthy vehicle maintenance and repair services.

Christian Brothers Automotive was founded in 1982, based upon the premise that car repairs do not have to be traumatic for owners. The company mission statement says it all – “to create an uncommonly great experience for customers in need of auto service and repair “

Locally, the Christian Brothers franchise is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Matt and Lee Rucks. Originally from South Carolina, the Rucks moved to Hendersonville to open their service center in June 2010. Since then, they have become the automotive service providers of choice for thousands of local customers.

“Matt and I had always wanted to work for ourselves, and we loved the Christian Brothers model,” says Lee. “We originally planned to open up a shop in upstate South Carolina, but the company offered us the franchise in Hendersonville. We visited Hendersonville and immediately felt at home, so we decided to relocate.”

Christian Brothers offers full service automotive repairs, including complicated services which previously could only be performed by dealerships.

“We offer every service needed to take care of customer vehicles, from routine oil changes to full engine replacements, “says Matt. “We even have the capability to diagnose, program and update the computer systems on today’s complicated cars.”

At Christian Brothers, all vehicle services are covered by a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, which adds to customer peace of mind.

“Trust is foremost in our business,” says Lee. “Our customers entrust us to service and maintain some of their most expensive assets, their vehicles. We are confident in the abilities of our team to live up to their expectations, and we will not let them down.”

Customers experience the Christian Brothers difference from the moment they enter the modern, clean facility. They are immediately greeted by trained service writers whose goal is to set their minds at ease while their vehicles are being diagnosed and serviced. While the waiting area is comfortable and inviting, customers are also offered the convenience of a free shuttle service to take them home or to work while their vehicles are being repaired.

“At Christian Brothers, we know that as long as we focus on taking care of our customers, everything else always works itself out,” says Lee. “We strive to treat every customer with honesty and respect.  We also have the best technicians, facilities and equipment, which makes our jobs a lot easier.”

Every year, Christian Brothers receives many of questions from vehicle owners about the best ways to maintain their expensive automotive investments. They are often confused about what maintenance is needed and when should it be performed.

“We do our best to dispel the myths surrounding car upkeep,” says Matt. “It’s really quite simple. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and you will get longer life out of your vehicle. Regular changes of consumable items such as engine oil, filters, timing belts and power steering, transmission and brake fluids can help customers avoid expensive breakdowns and repairs in the future.”

Along with taking great care of their automotive customers, Matt and Lee are well known for their community involvement in Hendersonville. They are actively involved in First Baptist Church, the Rotary Club and Living Sent and Grace Place ministries. In addition, the couple are members of the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, where Lee served as board chair during 2020. Lee is also the President of Leadership Middle Tennessee, the region’s premier organization for grooming current and future leaders.

As we approach Thanksgiving 2021, Lee and Matt realize that they have a lot to be grateful for this year.

“We are so blessed to be living in community where we are surrounded by our family, friends and customers,” says Lee. “We love Hendersonville, and we are proud to call it home.”

If you are looking for a vehicle repair company that is true to its word, come see Matt and Lee at Christian Brothers Automotive in Hendersonville. You will be glad that you did.
