Creating a Festive and Magical Ambiance

Meet Allison, Visionary behind Atelier Haus

1. You have been in business for a long time but are new to The Woodlands. Please tell us about your journey getting here.

Atelier Haus was born out of the desire to have a haven where my creativity could flourish. From the moment the studio's doors opened, it became a space where my ideas could be explored, designs could come to life, and imagination could roam free. The joy of witnessing my client's satisfaction and the positive impact my creations have on their lives has been the ultimate reward for all the hard work we have put in this year.

What truly sets Atelier Haus Interiors apart is my unwavering love for what I do. The ability to follow my passion, and to pour my heart into every project is undoubtedly the greatest victory of all.

2. How would you like to introduce yourself to The Woodlands?

I’m Allison Moore, an interior designer/ artist with a passion for creating thoughtful and captivating interiors. I am driven by the belief that a well-designed space has the power to transform lives and evoke emotions.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I am fortunate to have an incredible support system. I have a loving and supportive husband who understands and encourages my creative endeavors. Together, we are raising two wonderful boys. I strive to create spaces that reflect my clients' personalities, fulfill their needs, and tell their stories while incorporating elements of beauty, functionality, and innovation.

3. You have such a beautiful design vision. Tell us how people can decorate their homes subtly for the holidays by not necessarily using the traditional holiday decor.

When adding pops of color, instead of the usual red and green, consider incorporating pops of color that resonate with the holiday spirit. For instance, you can introduce rich jewel tones like deep blues, purples, or emerald greens in throw pillows, blankets, or artwork. These colors bring warmth and a touch of elegance while still exuding a festive ambiance.

Scents are a powerful tool for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere during the holidays. Opt for scented candles or diffusers with fragrances such as cinnamon, pine, or vanilla. Alternatively, you can enhance the natural aroma of your space by simmering a pot of water with citrus peels, cloves, and spices on the stove.

Embrace the beauty of nature by incorporating natural elements into your holiday decor. Consider using fresh greenery like eucalyptus, magnolia leaves, or pine branches as table centerpieces or garlands. Adorn them with delicate fairy lights or small ornaments for a subtle touch of holiday charm. Additionally, you can display pinecones, acorns, or dried berries in decorative bowls or vases to add a rustic and earthy feel.

Create a cozy and enchanting ambiance by utilizing soft and warm lighting. String fairy lights across your mantel or drape them along stair railings to add a magical glow. Soft lighting enhances the overall coziness of your space, making it perfect for intimate gatherings and quiet moments of reflection.

In the last few years, I have definitely simplified my Christmas decor at home. I have a beautiful collection of hand-painted glass ornaments that I collected over the span of 15 years. I loved to get them out every year but then I had 2 boys. I haven’t seen my ornaments in 6 years and probably won’t until the boys are off to college. To make life simpler, I began adding assorted photo frames to my tree with pictures of memories from past Christmas’s. The holiday season for me has become more about the moments and memories and I love reflecting that on my tree.
